For me Virtual Dj is still number one, BUT......
I looked at the demo on that site and saw an amazing video plugin.
The one with the cubes that is falling, looks very very cool.

@djanthony

+1, For me Virtualdj is the #1 too.

hello

The lads openly(frankly) I tested quite a lot of software of mix
Virtualdj will always remain the number 1

We can add effects like that too - that one was pretty cool, although I think it would get old very quickly.

The ability the customize and add effects are one of the best things about VDJ for me personally. I can have effects and transitions that no other DJ has.

SBDJ,

If you could create that cube plugin, it would be great.
And you're right, the big advantage of VirtualDj that it can be optimized by the people who are using it !!!

Yes it can be very usefull to have that much options. But it can also be a disadvantage, because it can be very confusing and sometimes you make mistakes and you don't know where they come from.

But thats more a problem for new users. ;)

I have used a lot of other software and for me VDJ is still number one.

Why do you keep posting these threads, what do you wish to prove?

well the only risk VDJ is takin here is if this FORUM dies VDJ dies too becuase whos ganna make the effects?give the VDJ teamers advice on how they can make it better?? so if people stop coming thru here VDJ IS DONE!! since its stuff like effects skins and all that stuff is done by the customers.....

Puzzled by why the question was asked in the first place. Simply if folk find a better software use it and go to their forums. Otherwise tell the team why its better, giving them the option to improve on what is already number one software having many advantages over others. The great thing with the VDJ team and friends on here, we all take note and offer guidance where possible, a service which competitors have realised and followed all be it a little late in the day.

The majority of plugins are produced by VDJ teamers...

I have been a digital Dj since 1998 (software that is, cds since 1994). I started with BPM Studio...it was by far the best Dj sofware on the market until PCDJ finally perfected FX around 2005, I discovered ONLY because PCDJ never came through on their promise on "Video will be ready next month" that went on for almost 2 years. I switched to VDJ with version 3.4, it still wasn' ready for serious primetime but had SERIOUS potential and was at least as stable as FX on the audio side and the Video was tolerable....series 4 was much improved and since series 5 came out VDJ has definitaly been #1 in Features, Ease of use, Customizability, Support (mainly through the great people on this board), and at least for us mouse users as stable as anything else out there on the market.

I would easily say VDJ is the best overall program....

If someone makes decisions based on "hype" and "marketing" just because some of the "big names" use serrato, by all means follow the crowd...you are the only one who loses. If all you want to do is rub vinyl back and forth and make noise maybe seratto is better for you because of the more recognizable name (at least here in the states), if you only do audio then most of the big name programs all have the same basic features, stability and performance so it is whichever one appeals to you and the way you spin.....

..... but for playing clubs as a career professional 4-5 times per week with almost exclusively video and playing different formats in each club and keeping your show (and yourself) fresh each night there is NO better program out there that I know of then VDJ.

Is there room for improvement, of coarse, there is with everything in life but VDJ staff has shown time and time again they want to remain ahead of the curve on features and functionality and I have faith they will continue to have that attitude (party because of the passion of their users and people on these boards).

I think it is good the question of which is best comes up once in awhile....gives us an excude to reevaluate our decision on VDJ and reaffirm we have made the right decision.

honestly i think this question is really pointless..... what is best doesnt matter. i use both vdj and itch and i have a good night no matter what software i use. point is use the program that has what you want. or just pick a program and use it. either way you need to just get to djing....however if it is a hobby think for you you can buy what ever and change as much as possible

i think each program has its good and bad...one might have what one dj wants and another might want what another program has....so it all depends on how u wanna use, what u want from it and how good u feel using it...

When I DJ I always use Window's Media Player. I love that auto play feature......

I think on this forum there are lots of FAN BOYs. Especially when saying use you brain for this or for that, that makes me think that some of U are naive and close minded, right Man TK? This post was so you guys can read about different DVS, and even if Vdj is the best, because you guys or even me consider it to be the best doesn't mean you have to stop reading to see what the competitor are moving to, what new features they have, what we have that they don't, what they have that we don't.

You guys just read and without hesitation, without giving a look start defending your point like a bunch of rabid dogs. Then you guys talk about brainless?, pointless? and s@@t like that?. People here are starting to develop the same fkn stpd attitude Serato users have, is like you buy the product and the stupidity comes bundle with it.

I started the post with the same question of the article, as simple as that, I got nothing to prove. Am I the programmer of virtualdj? NO so what the hell I got to prove? I'm just a consumer, I read, analyze and buy what fits best to me.

These are the things I like reading and comparing, of course if I had a brain to start with. This is just one example of one of the competitors

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Mod's delete it if you want to I care sh@@ if U do.

i started on 45's went to lp's, then went to 12'' singles, then cd's. but nine years ago i found a software called pcdj, i used it
every weekend for happy hour and formal dinners but not with a live crowd. 2 years ago i found virtual dj, and it changed the way
i look at djing. not only do i use it for happy hour, but i also use it on live crowds every weekend. i could load my drops, loops,
sound effects and so on . i havent opened my pcdj program in about a year. this is too easy! i dont have a sore back from
bending over the record crates all night. also i thought i would try other programs to make it even better. i've wasted
about 2 grand on programs that dont do half the things that vdj does. vdj is like having all the others in one place, plus video.
very user friendly.

p.s. tractor looks like something i would let my daughter play her music on. it's sooo cute:)

I like using Serato. It works flawless and i never had an issue. The reason why i use it is because, Its always reliable. I am not a fan of doing too much configuration or trying to figure out something in the middle of a party. Serato has its own interface which makes it better because its a 1 to 1 interface to software combination designed to work perfect for each other. I find myself DJ ying more comfortable with this program than anything else.

Programs ive used. Virtual Vinyl--Virtual DJ--Torq--PC DJ Dex

I wanna say VDJ and Ive been Djing since 1999
