Topic: Computer Infected | DO NOT INSTALL Antivirus 2009 from websites - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

My computer has a virus. The store I bought it from says the only way to remove it is to completely wipe the computer clean and reinstall the OS. I have vdj on this laptop and my desktop. If I completely wipe the computer clean and reinstall vdj will it work? I mean since its the same machine will it not count that I've installed vdj twice?

You can install VDJ as many times as you want, and you can download the install here:
http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

So you dont have to worry about that....


Do you know the name of the virus you got? Because almost all virus infections can be fixed, without having to wipe your PC.

But if you dont have much to loose (documents etc) on the PC, a new clean install, will give you a fresh fast working PC

 
you can install it as many times as you want as long as its not running 2 VDJ's at the same time..
 
the virus is called antivirus 2009

I stand corrected Norway. Thanks for the link but don't need it now. Noticed your link was for spyware program and I already have adaware by lavasoft. It said it removed the virus. Never connecting this computer to the internet again. Too risky. Will use the desktop online from now on.
 
OMG FUCKEN SHIT!!! I THINK MY COMP GOT INFECTED WITH THAT JUST NOW!!! it opened a site and said my computer had a virus..then i saw ANIT VIRUS 2009..i cancelled it and it still was scanning sumthing then i exited out..but wut should i do..should i use that thing u put up Rune!!!

Well, install protection... then you wont get affected again

Turn ON microsoft defender, and firewall. And make sure you have a good anti virus program installed.


And NEVER NEVER say yes or accept ANY website that says "Virus detected, download this free software now"
Its ALL scam ;)

Well if you cancelled it, it shouldnt be installed... so you did the right thing.

In all honesty you should also not travel on public roads, not fly or eat anything.. IMO if you get caught by stuff like this it's your own fault as you act on wel known and documented traps you should avoid. Also these useually pop up on sites which eh.. ehh offer less legal content

You should NEVER select anything within such popup windows, just close the window itself. And check the statusbar of the browser it will show it you get linked anywhere most of the time..

yup this is true, i wuz lukn for a song on google to see where i can get it now that my local CIRCUIT CITY RAN OUT OF BUSINESS!!! and it took me to like wits his name said less legal content..i was lukn at it then it just started to pop up...so yup this is why illegal stuff have consequences...BUY UR STUFF!!! hahaha...
 
You can use this to remove AntiVirus2009, http://www.malwarebytes.org/

This stuff is called Malware, which is a little different than Adware or a normal Virus because of this most AntiVirus programs and Adware removers won't detect malware.
 
ahh the Antivirus 2009 :P had many fights with that one :@

but in my situation I wasn't wasting time trying to repair about 20 computers I just reimaged them :P but for anyone who has this annying piece of spyware try Norway's sites ;)

If you install spybot and set real time protection you should be fine :)

I'm a bit of a news junkie and I thought these scams were well known .....

even if you have norton or mcafee that came with your computer ..... these are trial versions that aren't even activated ....

so activate one so you are protected during it's trial period at least and uninstall the other.....

better yet get TrendMicro or ZoneAlarm instead and live a little .......
