Topic: Ripping Music Video DVD's to MPG or AVI Files ?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Is there an application that can rip music video DVD's or ISO's to individual music video files?

I use dBpowerAMP Music Converter for all my music CD's .... its very easy and automated.

I'm just starting to get into mixing music video, but if I have to carry around the DVD's ill loose all interest.


Also ... what is the recommended file format for music video?

What are you looking to RIP, ie. Promo Only or store bought??

For Promo Only I use Smartripper

Store bought DVD Decrypter. I havent ripped any store bought DVDs but look in Tophouse's blog he has instructions for DVD Decrypter.

As far as files just leave them as .VOB.
 
everyone has there own favourites, me, i use avsmedia ripper, nice and simple, very quick, great results to mpeg2.
 
I agree with Tayla, everyone has their favorite.
