I'm running virtual dj 4.3 on a macbook 2.4ghz and NuMark DJIO external sound card. I have an external mixer, no turntables and everything works fine except recording. I can't seem to figure out how to record from my mixer instead of from my "master" input.
I've tried selected the "Line In" option in the record menu but then the sound is blank when I play the finished recording. When I select the "master" input from the record menu, it records everything including my cues. The main reason I would like to record from my mixer is to mix without hearing the cues.
I've also tried going into the system preferences and changing my input sound to the DJIO sound card.

I'm new to this forum, I didn't know I had to register :s.
There's a problem, I don't have that option under "Line-In", maybe vdj isn't compatible with DJIO?

Ok. no problem..and welcome to the mac forum.
To get started you just go to "modify my profile" tab and register ur serial there. Then u can download the recent version. V4.3 is an old version n the first version for mac.
Djio is compatible with vdj so no worry;)
Regards;)

The DJiO doesn't have a line in...

what do you mean? btw my friend has the same setup on a pc and the djio works

The DJiO provides an audio interface to get from your program to your mixer, but not the other way around.
If you want to record using your external mixer's fader, you have to send the master out from your mixer back into your computer. The DJiO is a 1-way street.
I use another computer with a Lexicon Alpha to record from my external mixer.

BUMP
I'm having the same issue but I'm use the DeeJay Trim.
When I switch to line on the back of the soundcard it doesn't give my timecode a signal. When I switch to line on my mixer I get static. Same thing when both are on.
UPDATE!
I got it working on line but still records my cues...

hi luke, sorry for late reply.
yes, with the current version me too can't record too. It could be a bug anyway i will check or try to get info on it.
in the meantime you can use audacity on the same system or you can channel it out to another system to record your mix.
best regards;)
