I resolved for 2009 to do some new things for my self and my biz . I want to finally get a website for the mobile biz , but i don't want a bunch
of different sites to check all the time , i'd rather have say just 2 that are useful ......
So in other words i don't wanna have a myspace plus musicv2 plus a website for my mobile biz ........
I'm thinking that myspace just uselessly duplicates what i can do at v2 , and that i need a separate site for the biz , preferably with a browsable database of tunes and videos , sample vid clips , forms for customers to request info and songs , wedding forms , etc
also i don't want to appear to be a wedding specialist , cuz i'm not ,and i don't want to compete against much larger multi ops .......i would like more weddings but i don't target the 5k and up crowd .........
i would like to here from Teary, Marcel and others with mobile and wedding experience

I use my MV2 page for my mixes only. My MySpace is my cool club DJ name. My business site only has one link to MV2 on the contact us page. I try to keep my mixing, and my wedding business separate. No one really cares about how good of a mixer you are at weddings. Just how much experience you have at DJing weddings.
One of the biggest hints I can throw at you Chuckles is this. To increase traffic for your web site try to use words you think are used most when someone is doing a Google search. Example: DJs, Wedding DJs, ReceptionDJ. that type of thing. Google has a way of searching for things by the words displayed on the page.

Respond.com
Is a Online referral service, perople go to that site fill out they're information - respond forwards it to you - you pay 4.00/referral.
I've made 4 sales off this site. It takes a bit more effort even if a prospective client fills out a information card, it's really a way of hiding behind a computer.
Facebook advertising works well - but is expensive.
I have my own website, and facebook company page.
Facebook is better IMO, 1 cause it's free, and people can give honest, unsolicited feedback. You can;t edit their post - only remove it if you want.
There's a few other referral services online,
gigmasters.com is one, but I haven't tryed it out yet.

Chuck I also neglected to mention...Bridal Fairs are a huge source of exposure. I am just getting back from one. The amount of people you can talk to in a short time is phenomenal.....
