Sonique is very much still supported in v8, in fact natively supported without need for a plugin :)

I've just sat staring at the screen for the last twenty minutes totally mesmerized, totally blows away the old antiquated Soniques plugin.

Anyway to get video samples/drops to overlay onto Milkdrop, been trying without success, be nice if it could, I know on clipbank you had to double click a plugin effect to get the output on top of it.

And please no one mention read the manual, I'm a bloke, besides it's a forum, we wouldn't need forums if everyone read manuals.

Yes we would, because there's stuff that isn't in the manual!

If you wish to use as a visualisation in v8, then please move the milkdrop.dll from Documents\VirtualDJ\Plugins\VideoEffect into Documents\VirtualDJ\Plugins\Visualisations

JUST the .dll or the .dll AND the milkdrop configuration settings?

Only .dll
Work great

You can move the .ini too, or it will recreate it with the default settings automatically.

Mac version to follow :)

Yeah guys it's already in the correct folder, it just looks so cool on screen, what I'm trying to get is the video drops to overlay onto Milkdrop.

Can this be done yet Scott.

Unfortunately video samples appear to render before plugins, so they are rendered behind them...

to quote that great but unknown person...

mind = blown.

grid transition+milkdrop+loop+fader in middle = FREAKIN' AWESOME EYECANDY!

Says incompatible ?

Hopefully this may be possible in the future, samples need to be set as priority output in my opinion, otherwise your losing a big percentage of it's functionality.

I just read in your other post you didn't install DirectX yet.
Maybe you should do that first.

I believe it's still DirectX 9 that you need.

I noticed this last night too - running Slideshow as the default audio-only plugin, playing an audio track, couldn't see anything from the video sampler...

How about double clicking an effect will bring it to the "top of the tree"

Thanks PachN.
I installed Direct X now milkdrop works :)

Just wanting to make Sonique cycle through the different effects now and then will look into milkdrop more (used to be able to type text on-screen when I used it with winamp years ago).

Cheers.

If you're seeing any messages about the plugin being incompatible with v8, please check you've not still got any beta versions of this. infact to be sure, remove any old versions and re-download. I did just to be sure :)

runs like a dream, no issues for me with this :)
