Of course but we benefit too, we have both programs and we will get to update immediately instead of waiting. I've been having some weird cueing and mixing problems with VDJ 6.0.1 so I've been going back and forth with CUE 5.2.1.

Hey I was looking forward to upgrading/buy to vdj 6 but my numark cue license has been canceled? and now i have to 150$ instead of the 50$ for owning cue. And why was my license canceled?

It appears you have CUE LE..not a full version of CUE. Unless you did not register it here. As to your cancel question you would need to ask that of Numark....

There seems to maybe be a little error on our side.
No CUE serial is canceled of course, but the license as been used by another individual as well

Any updates on this topic of offering a Cue 6?
Posted Tue 16 Jun 09 @ 11:35 pm
I've been wondering that myself as we approach the third week since VDJ updated...Wow, I'm glad I didn't wait, I would've blown a gasket by now waiting for Numark to get this out!

As far as Numark goes, I dont see the difference, VDJ doesn't have the mac version out either... The Beta is not even close to being ready, at least not for my machine it isn't... Im glad i didn't upgrade...
Think about it guys, dont you think both the PC and Mac versions should be the same???
Am i crazy on this concept???
Just because im a Mac user i should settle for less stability and bells and whistles???
I dont mean to sound like a jerk, but i was told to have patience... How much am i supposed to have, its been 3 years???

I dont think you should settle for less stable. However the one thing to consider is Atomix did pretty much rewrite alot of elements to the software to make the software more flexible to hardware and plug ins. This is not unheard of for there to be major issues with parallel development on both platforms (ie Windows and MAC.) I have worked in IT systems for well over 14 years as my day job. So I see this all the time in development as well as industry wide.
For instance, when Vista came out, it took Digidesign well over a year to develop a version of Pro Tools that was Vista compatible. Their XP version would not even install on Vista. Once the Vista version came out, it was then $75 to upgrade to it. By that time I had almost all but given up... and had to bought a full retail version of XP to install as a dual boot on my new laptop/PCs (that came preloaded with Vista.) That was $200 + the $75 I paid later for the upgrade. Not to mention how it takes the excitement out of buying a new laptop, only to find some of your primary apps have no delivery plan to get you a compatible version of their product.
So if anything, you should take some comfort in the fact a beta version is available. YOu can at least be apart of the solution to help test and report bugs you find... which does help lead to a more stable version quicker. I am not one who likes to wait either, but I would much rather feel like I was helping the situation vs checking the sit for an update every day... and spending money out of my own pocket to deal with the situation.
For purposes of this thread though, for us faithful Numark users, we have suttle hints something will come... but we know there were contract issues that have slowed up delivery. But we have no promises what so ever as to when, if, or what will be delivered in the future. Which is why I paid the $49 and bought a VDJ 6 license. I can at least start working with the version, work with it, prep it for use... meanwhile use my stable 5.2.1 Cue installation side by side.

I appreciate this post, i hope your right about Numark getting there shit together... I did notice that both CUE and Virtual Vinyl are back in the products listings on the web site again... I emailed my contact at Numark and never heard back so im assuming he's not allowed to talk about whats going on...
I hope the version 6 will be closer to the PC version the 5.2 is... There are things i miss having once making the switch to the Mac version...
Have a great holiday week everyone!
Best regards,
Chris.

sorry to say i bought it and it doesn't work better than numark cue. i can not get the tc to track the way it should even using the timecode download cd from this site. the few times i tried it in a club setting it had bad sound issues after playing a bit. i had a post going but we couldn't narrow the issues down yet. so hopfully the new vdj updates will solve the tc problems that others seem to have as well. other than the tc it seemed to work fine. even with my korg zero4.

Numark Time code CD works much better than timecode.mp3 from this site. Why not make full quality Time Code CD in wav format available for download like Serato has?

there is no difference between the numark tc and the vdj tc from what i understand... and as for the mac version... i have had no problems actually with the beta other than netsearch sometimes freezing, not being able to load up the program w/o turning off wireless.
thanks it for me, good luck on everyone elses problems. the upgrade of 50$ was worth it to me...

I tried running clip bank in Virtual DJ last night... after several attempts to get clips to load properly in the bank, i finally got it running... for some reason the same clip would sometimes load in 1/3 part of the screen... And if i open the skin to full screen the preview windows dont expand with the skin...
Anyway, here i am running clip bank visuals thru virtual DJ 6.0.1 to feed additional graphics to Grand VJ when about 1.5 hours into the night the screen goes crazy and freezes... i wasnt even touching the computer...
Im guessing the guys that are telling us that VDJ 6.0.1 is working so well for them probably are not outputting video...

[Update]
Hi All.
We have been very busy testing the new Cue version with Virtual DJs help.
As with any Numark product each update undergoes many hours of testing from our team.
As part of the Quality Assurance Team my role involves thoroughly testing each feature of the program.
We undertake these through checks to ensure the best experience for you the user.
We are now close to the end of this process and the update should be available very soon.

That is great news. Working in IT in telecom, I know how that QA process can be grueling long hours. Thank you for taking time out for making this update to us in the forum, and for your continued dilligence in delivering a product.
Do you care to hint at any differences between VDJ and Cue for 6.0? I dont want to take away time from your testing duties, and I know every communication has to be written and checked by your management and legal before it is shared. So you will probably have released it by the time you get the "okay" to release your statements. ;)
Thanks!
Chad

Hi Chad, they are identical so no worries there.
"Numark CUE is the same as VirtualDJ, but sold under the Numark brand.
The two products are essentially the same. The only difference is the distribution channels: VirtualDJ can only be bought online, while Numark CUE can only be bought in DJ stores."
