Topic: Won't let me record.

It says It can't Open the MP3 encoder.
It did a new mix and recorded right when I went to 5.0 and everything worked ok.
Now it won't let me??????
(I up graded to 5.0 r2 or whatever it is. Still no help.

download this http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Lame_Encoder.htm
and extract the lame.dll to c:/programfiles/virtualdj

and my documents / virtual dj

and it should be able to encode again

I am having this same problem. I did do a recording in the MP3 format, but can't seem to get it set up again. It goes to wav. and the message comes up "Can't open MP3 Encoder". I have tried to set this up everyway I can think of, but it still goes to wav.

Firstly well done on posting at the end of a five year old thread. :-/

Secondly, the clue is in the message "can't open MP3 encoder". You need an MP3 encoder. You don't have one (in the right place).
