Out of curiosity, what does the "windows media" codec setting do that the VDJ's "video codec" may not be doing. As I have tried both with wmv files that play on windows media but never on VDJ and I HAVE TRIED both codec settings?
Any help here please?

If I install all codecs using the install file for them, into my machine, does that mean that WMPlayer will always see them and use them appropriately, and therefore, any file that is codec'ed with "Windows Media Player" codec in VDJ should also play those files in VDJ as well, right???

I have tried both settings, my question is , why wouldn't the video codec internal one NOT WORK for the wmv files?

It is a wmv file that I converted from an original vob file taken off my digital sonyCam.
The mpeg2 file plays well.
Do you still need to see my wmv file?
