Topic: Windows media codec setting?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Out of curiosity, what does the "windows media" codec setting do that the VDJ's "video codec" may not be doing. As I have tried both with wmv files that play on windows media but never on VDJ and I HAVE TRIED both codec settings?
Any help here please?

are they protected files?

They play in windows media just fine so I suppose they are not?

If I install all codecs using the install file for them, into my machine, does that mean that WMPlayer will always see them and use them appropriately, and therefore, any file that is codec'ed with "Windows Media Player" codec in VDJ should also play those files in VDJ as well, right???

where did they come from

ripped from original dvd video and converted to wmv.

alright il see if i can work it out :) for you

sorry for the delay

Thanx, sky, any luck yet?

it should be set to internal video decoder

windows media option is for wma

I have tried both settings, my question is , why wouldn't the video codec internal one NOT WORK for the wmv files?

do you have a sample video you could upload some where?

It is a wmv file that I converted from an original vob file taken off my digital sonyCam.
The mpeg2 file plays well.

Do you still need to see my wmv file?
