Here is what you can try:
disable everything you don't need, like wireless, lan etc. Try do to it from bios, if there is a option. You have some sort of drivers/hardware conflict and it is not easy to find it, belive me. If something improves, enable one by one part to see which one is causing the problem. Did ya tried a clean install?
I didn't had the time to test Vista with Home and Mk2 but will at monday, will have some spare time ;)
Tell us what you did and we will see what you should do next.
 
No one else, no new updates on the situation?

Well, last night I finally got a chance to put MK2 on Vista... I followed sky's steps to a "T", well I think I did. Digging in my configs is not my forte. But the system works very well. The music loads in 2-3 seconds, video loads in about 3-6 seconds... The affects and transitions run very smoothly even with back to back video and affects and I'm not using a high powered video card.
 
well, i hace tried everything, including a power supply. still the same slow responce on the buttons and the delay on the comunication between the mk2 and software. does anyone has any good news?

Now I've read every Thread concerning Vista-Problems and I tried all, nothing has changed.
Its terrible, I WANT TO USE MY MK2-CONSOLE WITH WIN. VISTA (Home Premium) !!!
 
I have to say mine works like a dream.

What is the PC you have:

What else do you have plugged into USB ports

I bought a new laptop 2 weeks ago from SAMSUNG (germany):

-Windows Vista Home Premium
-Intel Core Duo 2x 1,73Ghz, 1mb L2 cache, 533 MHz FSB
-Ati Radeon Xpress 1250 with 128MB
-2GB DDR2Ram
-160GB HDD


...and NOTHING plugged on USB (just the mouse)
I already have installed the updates of VirtualDJ and Hercules but it appears the error
"Fehler im Directx Soundtreiber" => Error in Directx Sounddriver

I swear I read all threads concerning this error with vista but there was no final solution :(
 
the solution is the following

for those who missed it higher in the thread

1. uninstall console and vdj

2. reboot

3. go to control pannel then user acounts , find your acount and set it to administrator Group

4. reboot

5. reinstall

horray its working.
 
Okay. Have you checked Direct X using the tool.

Goto Help and Support and search for Direct X.

Look for the option "Run Direct X Diagnostic Tool"

Run the tool and see if it shows any errors.

NEXT if that does not help.

Use "System Restore" to return your system to a state when Direct X was not a problem.
Make sure you have downloaded all the windows updates.
Install the Hercules Mk2 Software
Install the updated XP driver
Plug the Hercules in
Start Virtual DJ
Update as required

You should be good to go


When I first installed the Herc I never seen the icon down by the clock (bottom right) I had to browse program files to find the file and run it. Once run it is always there on start up.

Let me know how you get on. I realise this is pretty frustrating as you have the required kit to have a good setup.

make sure it all works with the supplied version of VDJ. I never bothered with latset version as it never worked on XP correctly for me never mind Vista.

And as Sky has said above you will need to be Administrator

i hope its gona work after that =)

I cant believe it.... i just deinstalled all
entries which include the name "hercules"
and "virtualdj", reboot my computer, first
install the new hercules driver and after
that virtual dj....IT WOOOORRKKSSSS!!!!

Hy, i am a new user of this program(VirtualDJ) and is ok and lot of fuuuuunnn!!

I'm upgrading to a new laptop--and unfortunately---every laptop that has any kind of nuts in the way of RAM and power...is now running VISTA. Can anyone send me the EXACT proceedure and what (and how) to download into a virgin computer? I am a VDJ PRO user with the PIONEER-1000 skin. Gracias!

Hello I would like to know is this who would have quelq' one which would be able to do one mixes with put 3 or 4 songs to add worse special effects in mixes
