Topic: Record Case Freezing - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

Hello all,

I'm having a little problem. My record case freezes occasionally. It doesn't happen every time I use VDJ but still it is rather annoying. The music continues playing but I'm not able to do anything else. Has anybody got any ideas???

Pentium 4 3GHZ
1GB RAM
250 GB hard drive
Rack mount

Thanks

I am just using the normal full vid skin, will change to just full audio.

What do you mean by lowering performance tab??

Thanks

I've posted this problem a few times in the past few weeks already. Working with virtual folders causes the program to freeze. Well it doesn't freeze exactly but the display stops responding and you have to restart the program in order to recover.

skyfxl, i really don't see what the performance setting could possibly have to do with this. this problem occurs when nothing is even playing. when all i am doing is creating virtual folders and adding files to the folders, no music playing at all, and the display locks up, what does that have to do with performance settings?

basicaly

i belive that the proformance level is to high

and the cpu cannot keep up

so therefore lags occured

Just wanted to weigh in and say I have had the same problem...

I now largely use iTunes as my recordcase and it works well, though I wish I didn't have to screw around w/ another app being open.

but if NO MUSIC IS PLAYING, cpu use is very low. performance setting should not matter. dragging files to virtual folders should not consume too much cpu

mine does that the first time I recurse, or the first time I open my master music database.... it's for like 30 seconds... makes your butthole pucker, but I know it's coming back, it just needs a second to sort the whole 600 gigs of info....

My machine is brandy new, smokin' fast and lightning quick, but it still hangs up for a minute when doing the initial opening....

What do you call "record case" more precisely ?

* When you are searching in a sub-folder of your hard drive?
* Local Database ?
* Global Databse ?
* Favorite Folder with sub-folder?
* Virtual Folder ?
* Suggestion Box ?

Local Database - NO
Global Database - NO
Favorite Folder - NO
Virtual Folder - YES
Suggestion Box - NO

Working with virtual folders (even with no music playing) causes the display to freeze, requiring a restart.
