Topic: mixing together online

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

hello legends :)
is it possible to mix tracks with a friend online?
I'm in a different state to my friend.
If possible - do we both need the same MP3 files?
Kindest regards :)

But you are not at same computer, so that would not be easy.. or "possible" ;-)
You can always use some desktop sharing tool, so he can access your computer desktop remotely, and you can do it together..
At least as a "tutorial/teach" approach that might be ok (Teamviewer.com etc are free)

Or you can take turns perhaps, do a Skype call, and mix one at a time for a bit - each at their own computer ;-)

Thinking of something like that but never took time to test
May be interesting to try,

2 local decks and 2 distant decks using VBAN
(Would need both a registered Voicemeeter and VDJ pro)
using its remote midi facility maybe would be possible to map a sort of cross controller

First DJ :
deck 1 -> stream 1 -> VBAN out
deck 2 -> stream 2 -> VBAN out
VBAN in -> stream 3 -> line 1 -> deck 3
VBAN in -> stream 4 -> line 2 -> deck 4
main ==> Master output device

Second DJ :
deck 1 -> stream 3 -> VBAN out
deck 2 -> stream 4 -> VBAN out
VBAN in ->stream 1 -> line 1 -> Deck 3
VBAN in -> stream 2 -> line 2 -> deck 4
main ==> Master output device

For tests
First DJ :
main -> stream 1 -> VBAN out
VBAN in -> stream 2 -> line 1 -> deck 3
main ==> Master output device

Second DJ :
deck 1 -> stream 2 -> VBAN out
VBAN in -> stream 1 -> line 1 -> deck 3
main ==> Master output device
