Topic: VDJ8 PRO also extremely low headphone audio

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

The the headphone audio out on my VDJ8 Pro is low and the headphones are useless in a loud envirnonment. Tried swapping sound cards and while it's much louder but still useless with my external digital ASUS Xonar, this is not how it should work.

For sound cards with a low output db level on the headphones channel, you may use the headphone_gain action to increase the output volume, but be careful with it, it may go too loud :) (can go up to +30db)
Assign a custom slider on the default skin and try it.
In case you find a value where the headphones volume works fine now, you may use this value in your ONINIT key of your keyboard (or your controller), e.g. headphone_gain 60%

Where do I find this "headphone gain action"?
How do I assign a custom slider to a downloaded skin? ( I am using the RMX2 skin )
If you are reffering to the headphone volume knob on the software, it is by default all the way up,.. but as I explained in an earlier post today, adjusting this knob totally knocks out the audio from the headphones and it only gets fixed by re-starting VDJ8PRO.
