Topic: Headphone gain

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Had a look and cannot find a post about this.

Denon MC3000 is naturally very loud with headphone output. No matter what settings I alter (headphonesGain under 'audio' options), I cannot change the gain.

Is there another way to do this?

Can you not just lower the headphone volume knob on the controller?

This should be able to reduce the headphone volume to right down to zero, and give you fine enough control to ensure it's at a reasonable level.

Nope, as I said, the output volume on the MC3000 is really loud. A theoretical 2/12 is too loud.

If you assign the custom knob of the default 2 Decks skin as ..
headphone_gain
does it affect the Volume on your Headphones ?
If yes, move the mouse over that knob, see what value it reports and add it to the ONINIT key of the Denon mapping.
e.g. ONINIT : headphone_gain 30% (you will have to add it, as it isnt included in the factory default mapping)

Maybe I'm deaf (:-)), however I have a 3000, 6000, and a 6000MK2, and haven't found their pre-amp headphone jacks too loud.
