Topic: Plenty of "Freeze" posts and "Crash" posts... on Macs with no real acknowldgement?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I was just wondering why there have been a ton of freeze and crash reports posted on Mac machines without any real acknowledgments from the developers?

By acknowledgement, I mean, no questions asked to help solve the issues.

Guys, if we can help you solve the numerous issues happening on the Mac side, let us know. We are glad to help reproduce and report any details you may need.

I know that there are other major issues happening (BPM's, Beat Display, Automix, etc) but please let us help in any way to get you the information you need to solve these problems.

We are ALL very glad to help! Again, thank you for your constant efforts to make this right.

Crash reports get automatically uploaded on our servers from both Windows and Mac computers. So the Team gets all the data. If there is something additional required, be sure the Team will ask ;)

Very nice... that would have been great to know, since many of us posted our crash reports...

Hopefully we have a new version for the weekend...

Thanks for the update!

That's not necessarily true... There's been a number of crashes on my laptops that are not regularly connected to the Internet. When they are not connected, the crash dumps are written, however they are never sent. (I've confirmed this by watching the network traffic on the laptops and how they interact with your servers via Wireshark.) I found that crashes are only sent if there's active connections to the Internet at the time of the crash.

Ah, you saved me a little work.
Had that on my to-do list, just of curiosity.
Because I was expecting exactly what you described.

Oh Darn... and my gig machines are NEVER connected to the internet. So, that means that you are NEVER getting my crash reports.

It's very surprising that they don't have a plan in place for this. If the software crashes and there is no connection, the logs should be packaged (compressed to a .zip), and then perhaps a dialog requesting you please send the file (showing it's path) to crashreports@virtualdj.com to be reviewed and analyzed.

It appears that Atomix made too many assumptions in the design.
