i can not even get to use the remix mode. could you please share your workflow?

Remix mode is only accessible via a right click on the sampler bank display/name area.

Or you can use

sampler_bank '{remix mode}'

in either a custom button, controller button or skin mod.

and than? this gives me only 64 blank buttons

It will depend on the track i believe.

The software will automatically create the remix points. Like this:

You can also add your own remix points in the POI editor.

... and it will show the Remix points of the selected deck each time.

OK can someone please tell me why I did not know about this??? HOLY BALLS BATMAN!! I THINK IM IN LOVE!!

1 question though, How does VDJ decide what gets remixed and what doesn't??

When the software scans the file it looks for the break and break exits - thats a basics.

You can add your own points or rename any of them also. Another button for your skin?

Ok not trying to hi-jack the thread but why is it whenever I hit a remix button it doesn't "stutter", it always acts like its quantized??

Can I change this somehow??

Ok if I can't "stutter" the remix pads then this is really kind of point less for me.
Is there a way to turn off "quantized" pads when in remix mode??

Have you tried changing smartCueQuantize? It's 1 by default, meaning it snaps to bars - but can be made smaller.

Posted Wed 04 Jun 14 @ 12:54 pm
That doesn't really make sense to me cause that shouldn't have any effect on the sampler pads, should it??

Posted Wed 04 Jun 14 @ 1:25 pm
I dunno. The remix mode is clearly quantized, and it's (effectively) using cue points to jump around the track.

Posted Wed 04 Jun 14 @ 1:34 pm
Yeah cause I changed the sampler buttons mode and it still was quantized.

I'll check that setting again tonight but I could of swore I could drum my hot cues.......

The Remix points are of course quantized. If you wishto trigger and stutter at will, then use HotCues. The remix points are there to help you jump to a certain part of the song while mixing live and staying on beat at the same time.

So VDJ knows how to mix better then me now, really??

I'm playing but in all seriousness shouldn't that be my choice??

This should be changed or I should at least have the option, my timing is pretty good.......

Please give us the option cause as they sit now it's no good to me.

Quantized is excusable if the user is given a choice of quantize rate.

In the same way it's possible to "quantize" a loop into half notes, quarter notes, eighth notes and so on, the user should be able to decide where the "divisions" are, as that dictates the style and extent of the remixing you can do.
