I cant seem to write the correct script for a Filter Folder, Group By Genre, where it is Drive Specific to my External SSD Drive E:
My filter folder keeps listing every drive attached to this machine.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am not sure is the ..group by .. can be combined with some more criteria... so this .. group by genre and file path starts with "Driveletter:\" may not work.
a workaround would be to create a Filter folder with ..group by genre, and nest it (move it) under the root directory of the HD you wish to filter/sort by genre and choose "folder recursive" from the offered Scope list.

Edit.. ..maybe not the best option, since the recursive seems to be temporary...so it will keep your Hard Drive busy all the time.. i ll try to think of an alternative.

DjDad, thanks for reply. I fixed a work around after reading your reply. Opened MyComputer, exposed all drives, clicked on external drive E: and then the folder where music resides. From there I created a filter folder named Genre. It seems to work, however the folder will not layout in the browser tree as do my other filter folders. This new one is nested under the folder where all music is stored. I'll keep working on it as I hope VDJ would also provide the correct method.
Thanks again. I'm using a VMS4.1, is the last skin for V7 the latest one to use for V8?

try ..
group by genre with Drive is E

Notes
- If group by field is used, then adding "with" narrows the results
- It doesnt make sense to query the file path starts with, as the Ext Drives may change letter, this may not work as expected
