Topic: Left and right players on MC6000 sound COMPLETELY different! - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

Strangest problem so far... My left deck sounds COMPLETELY different from the right deck.

Very little low end on the left deck and sounds AMAZING on the right deck.

Using Denon MC6000 and Macbook Pro.

Actually working on the MC6000 right now, in the club. It sounds great. Just problems with Hercules Trim.... Same issue you have. Strange

Thanks, however, I would prefer that the problem be addressed and fixed.

A work-around is great but at this stage, let's get it fixed.

are you sure that the filter is switched off? (button EFX4--->Off)

Filter knobs are at unity?

No clue what you mean... please elaborate.

Do I have to do this every time? Can I tell VDJ8 to NEVER use the filter?

Okay, I did a search for this and will see if I have a mapped button on my Denon.

Thanks

By default the filter is activated when the software is opened.
this means if the knob EFX4 is not centered, to the sound is applied the filter.
Remember to leave the knob in the center position or press the EFX4 button to turn off completely the filter.

please, do this test.

1)Open Virtualdj

2)push the button EFX4 left and right side of the denon (to led of the EFX4 must be off)

3) test now and let me know

Will do. Hopefully, this is the problem.

If it is, I will immediately remove the mapping so these never turn on. No clue what the "filter" does anyway.

To address this problem, I think it will be useful to have a on/off button on the skin itself.

Additionally, you can map
deck 1 filter_activate & deck 2 filter_activate
to ONINIT

This will deactivate filters on deck 1 & 2 right after the VDJ Start.

To get a button on the skin, you can use the custom buttons. Right click on one of them and type in "deck 'x' filter_activate"

My MK6000MK2 is brand new and many of the knobs out of the box are not centered. I found this fix the hard way, however it appears to be working pretty well right now.

I know you are not using the MK2, however the MK and MK2 gave me the same issues and were resolved with the same changes.

Ah... you were talking about your knobs.... you had me lost there. Didn't know how that related to the sound being different on the decks.

Yep. The knobs on the MK2 which were affecting the sound were turned fully to the left (at 0). I had to put those dead center to get things working.

As stated, mine were at unity and still had the problem. Need to just test it with my controller attached. Maybe later today.

I added "& deck 1 filter_activate & deck 2 filter_activate" to the end of my ONINIT, and they're still coming on when I start VDJ

How do I set it where efx4 is NOT enabled on either side?
