Topic: Lost playlist elements

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi DJs!
I was trying to load a playlist. Right click on it and load it in both the side list and the automix. Then I wanted to clear them, I selected all song by doing "CTRL+A" and "delete".
The result, it cleared all the songs for my playlist (m3u) and save it empty.

I lost a good playlist!

Anyone know what happened? Any ways for VDJ8 to not act like this?

Thanks!

"Delete" will indeed remove the selected songs from the Playlist if this is loaded to Automix List, but it wont "empty" your Playlist,, unless you choose to "Save" from the Options. Really cant reproduce it here.

However, it will delete the entries and empty the Playlist (if all files are selected), if you do the above in the songs List. and thats normal imo. Same behavior exists for the Virtual folders as well.

Well I didn't "save" so is there an autosave in the option that I need to turn off?

re:Bump

there is a parameter in settings wich will automatical save the lists

<savePlaylist>unplayed</savePlaylist> i guess default is "smart"
<showM3UAsFolders>yes</showM3UAsFolders>

i gues the combination of this two will case your Problem

Thanks for pointing this out. I just went and disabled the "saveplaylist" option. That is a terrible option! Should never autosave playlists!
