Hey Guys!

Just a quick question - How do I use ch3 and 4 on Pioneer DDJ-SR?

In addition, why the volumeter leds are not working too?

Im on MAC OS-X Mavericks

Your inputs will be highly appreciated

Thanks in advance.

dev team/admins/anyone?

I'm dead serious above the 4 channel set-up and I can't utilise this feature using the Pioneer DDJ SR - is there a fix on this?

I've already installed the SR Controller plugin for Mac but still in vain. Only Channels 1 & 2 are working OK. Loading tracks on 3 & 4 is no good as it loads on 1 & 2.

If this is still a work in progress, please let know.

Thanks.

Gab

Works fine here.
Nothing is really changed in version 8 for this controller, however, please make sure that you dont have any definition or mapping files in /VirtualDJ/Devices and /VirtualDJ/Mappers folders.
FYI. the VU meters will show nothing if set on MASTER position and you have selected a different sound card for Master Output.
If the DDJ-SR is selected as Master Output (default Audio Setup_, then it will show the Master Level on the MASTER position, and on the CH12 position it will show the level of the Left and right decks.
LOAD works fine too for all 4 decks.
Please test again and report back in details if you still have issues.

Confirmed. There's an issue in HID on MAC. It will be fixed with next update.

DDJ-SR is not a HID Device , its a MIDI one, so most likely Phantom was replying to something/someone else.
It works fine here even with the build you have.

Update:
mapper for SR has been installed successfully by adding a device folder on VDJ directory.

But, 4 channel function remains a mystery.

@dj dad, you said SR works fine with your machine, right? could you pls send some tips and tricks for me to play around with? maybe mine just need a bit of tweaking?

I'd greatly appreciate it.

There is no need to install any mappers or files for the DDJ-SR. But no matter what files you have in Mappers folder or devices folder, you should still be able to use the default factory ones.
So in the CONTROLLERs tab you should be able to see the DDJ-SR on the left side, and if you click (select) that, you should get at least the factory default Mapping option from the right sided list.
Once you choose that, you should be OK.
If you still have issues please report.
Btw, whats wrong with 4 Channel function ? (mystery) ? Keep in mind that the unit needs to be in the "Other DJ software" mode , not Serato) - read the manual on how to switch to that

Well that is not the solution of course, as you have actually disabled the version 8 default definitions, so your device worked with the files that you had in Devices folder, which are from version 7.
I am really curious on what other things you have in those folders (Devices/Mappers), as the unit works fine here with the built-in files. If you get a chance to try again, put that setting back to No, and try with the default factory mapping.

As requested:

Restore the default setting - now ch 3 & 4 were back to old issue..

Here's the problem when loading track to ch4 while deck 2 is playing.

My sound card setting for your reference:

I really cant reproduce your issue.

In CONFIG->Controllers tab , do you see the device detected properly as PIONEER DDJ-SR and next to that, factory default in Mappings ?
Do you have the unit in the "Other DJ application mode" ?
When you switch decks on either left or right side, do you see the LOAD buttons change color from Red to Orange ?

In Applications-->Utilities-->Audio MIDI Setup, choose view MIDI Window from the top Window menu bar. Is the unit detected there as "PIONEER DDJ-SR" ? If not, double-click on the device and rename it as previously

Yes, I confirm on this.

Please excuse my ignorance but I can't find this part in the manual. Appreciate if you can provide instruction/screenshot as to where this can be triggered?

I'll try this tonight then report back.
