Topic: Small Controllers (Like the Numark DJ2GO) - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

Ok so I have my regular sized controller, my Numark Mixtrack (which I'm looking to replace). But I'd also like to have a small controller that I can fit into a backpack or something when I'm testing out a setup or place in which I'm going to be DJing at. I'm looking at things like the Numark DJ2Go, Behringer CMD Micro, Icon iDJ, or anything else that size. Price range: under $100. What do you guys think is the best?

Do you think this is a good piece of equipment to have just in case?

Sure they can be useful. Thats why I am planning to get my 11year old daughter one of those so I can have as a back up;-)

Which controller do you recommend? Thanks!

Out of the ones you listed I prefer the Numark, I think it's laid out better, seems more logical.

Yeah the only reason I'm heading more toward the Numark DJ2Go side is because it's thinner. The Behringer CMD Micro is really thick and maybe hard to transport.

I think you'll want this instead, Google "Numark Mixtrack Edge"........
About the size of an iPad.

I have one with my macbook pro 13".....I never leave home without it, whether I use it or not.
size nice
easy set up
mapping easy

Nope, wait for the Edge to come out.

It's nearly 3 x the price though.

Well it does have a soundcard built-in........When I saw and touched it I feel in love with thing. I'm definitely getting one when it comes out.

That thing may even be thinner than the Macbook Air! I'm not sure though, the DJ2Go pretty much has everything I need in a small controller and it's 3x cheaper. It is an option though, thanks!

It's about as think as a MacBook Pro.

I'm getting one of these (Dynacord Powermate 600-3)

and I want to use the soundcard in it with VDJ and use a dj to go controller, my question is, will this combo work?

If there's a soundcard in it then yes, or at least I don't see why not. Looks like a good mixer! Good luck!

I just got a Numark 2 go and Im mapping it, come across the load button, the load button and it has a funny command, can anyone tell me what it means.

PS,

Is there anyway to disable the jogs when the track is playing so they don"t scratch, device is a little small lol, might catch it when cuing up.

It means if you tap the button it'll load the deck but if you hold it down it'll turn scratch mode on. rOr if scratch mode is already on it'll turn cd mode on(pitch bend)

Thanks H,

I replaced with Load, left deck is in bend which is great but right is in scratch still.

How am I gonna sort this?

Sorted it,

in options jog was set to cd/vinyl i changed it to cd, then tried to change it back to cd/vinyl but it would only let me have cd or vinyl.. strange

Anyway i set it to cd and were sorted.

Good little controller however i was going to use it with the dynacord powermate 600-3 however i just noticed that this mixer doesnt have a headphone socket, or would i use headphone socket in the laptop?

You could use the headphone on the laptop but you might have a delay as there not the best. Try it out if it doesn't work pick up a cheap Behringer and you should be good to go.

Kinda weird though it doesnt have a headphone socket.
