Topic: Mixtrack Pro Crossfader Problem

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I'm running the trial version of VDJ Pro from VDJ LE that came included with my Mixtrack Pro on PC. It's about a week old, and the crossfader already seems to have a problem. If I bring it all the way to the left, it continues to play the music from deck 2. However, the problem does not occur vice versa, and when I bring it all the way to the right, I can no longer hear the music from deck 1.

Can anybody help me? Thanks.

Disregard, it appears the sound settings were messed up.
Thanks anyway.

If you are using the 20 day Pro trial, also check your crossfader setting in CONFIG -> Options.

Does the crossfader actually move on-screen when you move it on the MixTrack?

Yes...no volume is coming from the headphones either.

Do have your headphones connected to the headphone socket of the MixTrack and a pair of amplified speakers connected to the master outputs on the back?

If you are trying to use your laptop's built-in sound card for master output or headphones, this won't work. LE will only work with the sound card built into the MixTrack Pro. See: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VirtualDJ%20LE%20sound%20through%20computer%20speakers.html

What are your current sound settings in VirtualDJ?

Input: none...output: headphones master 1&2 heaphones 3&4 numark. Headphones are connected to jack in front of controller.

Those settings should be correct for the MixTrack Pro.

Make sure that the CUE GAIN knob is turned up and CUE MIX is turned towards the left (CUE). Also, make sure that you have selected a deck to pre-listen to using on of the CUE buttons. Try using a different pair of headphones to rule out faulty headphones.

If none of this helps, then the MixTrack Pro may be faulty. Please contact the manufacturer Numark support for advice: http://www.numark.com

I have done all of the following...however the controller works perfectly with serento. Would that rule out a hardware issue?

Your best option would be to use the live chat facility to contact support who can then remotely connect to your computer (With your permission) to look at the problem directly:

If you have prelistening issues or the crossfader is not working as it should, apart from making sure that you have followed the instructions here.. http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/MixTrack%20Pro.html
also check these..

1. You have connected speakers ONLY to Output 1 ..NOT 2
2. Mixtrack SOund card is set to Quadrophonic mode (4 speakers). Rightclick on the speaker icon on your (right-bottom) taskbar, choose Playback Devices. Select the Numark Sound card and choose Configure.
