Is there a way to get the keyboard to control the volume for each deck? PCDJ use to do it. Surely VDJ can too.

yep, there is two ways you could do it...
you can specify a level you want the volume to set to by stating it as a percentage e.g.
deck 1 volume 80%
Or you can have a button to raise or lower the volume at a sensitivity you choose e.g.
deck 1 volume +0.05%
deck 1 volume -0.05%

i am not sure i follow you... If you want up and down you need to assign two keys, one for up and one for down per deck
so
a = deck 1 volume -0.05%
s = deck 1 volume +0.05%
you just need the bold text, but you also need to change the deck number for deck 2, and if you want to adjust the sensitivity its the percentage value, upwards from zero is more sensitive so +0.1% will move the fader faster than +0.05%

Just not working for me like that for some reason. I pasted exactly what you posted in bold and assigned the letter but it doesn't do anything.

maybe 0.05% is not sensitive enough, try increasing the value to say 1%
deck 1 volume +1%
deck 1 volume +1%

You can chain multiple actions together, e.g:
deck left volume +1% & deck right volume -1%
deck right volume -1% & deck left volume +1%
Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJscript.html and http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJScript%20Examples.html
deck left volume +1% & deck right volume -1%
deck right volume -1% & deck left volume +1%

I know this topic is a little bit outdated, so I hope I can get an answer :)
I tried this, and with succes. I saw the fader going up and down. the only thing is, the volume of the song isn't going down or up...
Do you have a clue?

Apparently you have wrong sound setup and the pre-listen chanel is mixed with the master one.
Do you use headphones or just your computer speakers ?
See here the possible setups to prelisten with Home Free version http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Pre-listen%20using%20headphones%20in%20VirtualDJ%20Home%20FREE%20or%20Broadcaster.html
If you cant have any Stereo USB sound card or Y-splitter, choose the icon with Simple Output (only speakers) from Config->Sound setup.

Eddymatic, this is a very old thread relating to old versions of Virtual DJ.
What are you trying to achieve?
And what version of Virtual DJ?
If it’s an older version then you should start a new thread in this forum. Otherwise, please ask in one of the others - probably “General Discussion”.

Well if your idea of success is using one software to pretend it's another then good luck.
