Topic: New iPad Skin == Need Beta Testers - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

I just finished my TRACE PAD 2.0 iPad remote skin.

While I have tested it in windows, I need to test it on an actual iPad.

I don\'t exactly own one so I was wondering if anyone who DOES own one would be so kind as to test it for me?

Just leave a comment here or something.

Your skins are all starting to look them same.........its not a bad thing if that's what your going for??

How did you do this? I mean can you try an iRemote iPad skin without having an iPad????

Did you divide the skin from pages to single smaller skins??

Nothing that fancy. Put a couple of "secret" pc buttons in (config, min, max) then coppied the bmp and XML to my skins directory and loaded it in VDJ

Granted the engine isn't the same but it gives me a feel for layout and text placement.

(also tells me if it's crashing or not)

Oh, and since re-reading your post DjDad I should also note that this is a single page skin as it seems all except for nanoscopic are thus far.

Makes it a lot easier to test without multiple pages.

Thanks, I'm currently re-designing the buttons but I will send you a link when I have the re-work complete.

OK, the re-design is complete and uploaded for approval.

Cross your fingers. I got no feedback from the beta testers so... I\\\'m jumping in to the deep end!

I'm pretty sure that error was being caused because I still had the "pc" buttons on it when I sent it to you. I'll send you the latest version for testing.

Tried both mac & win on different machines and the ipad (2) refuses to load the skin with a 'failed to load skin' error. Tell me if I can help with the testing. Thanks!

No it does not. You need to setup an adhoc connection between your computer and your ipad.

I added the code iremote="yes" to the skin tag.

I hope that will fix it.

I can't troubleshoot myself because I don't have an iPad

Love the skin. I've tried them all, and this is my favorite! One thing that's not functioning right is the browser. Nothing shows up in the window. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or if there's a glitch. Great work!! Hope you can work it out if it is a glitch.
