Even Atomixmp3 is used in clubs with mp3's encoded as low 128kbps, no one complains, it is loud music played to people who are either drunk or on drugs.., so in these kind of clubs, such a set-up works..
I personally go for CBR 320kbps played through VDJ, with a hercules, and a good mixer, this is tip top for any club, pub or lounge environment.
