The one thing I loved about Cue was it worked without glitches and flaws. I right from install through testing straight to the club. VDJ, i'm finding some hick-ups.

UK pricing is weird .....
If I buy Cue from an online retailer in the UK, it is £229.00 ($375.00.) however online from Atomix it is $299.00
So for the priviledge of a box and slower updates you pay an extra $75 then possibly another $49 if you want to crossgrade to VDJ.
Why would anyone want to buy Cue in the first place if VDJ is so much cheaper for a similar but better product?. Atomix get their money both ways, either direct or via Numark ......

well i upgraded from Cue 5.2 to VDJ 6
Im sure numark will update it within the next week or so, and its not that i didnt want to wait, its more along the lines of the future and support.
I own all numark gear.
i bought 2 icdx' a year and a half ago as i wanted to convert to laptop djing and this was my suitable solution. so in summer of 08 i saw how numark had this total computer dj in a box, that came with 1 total control, dj IO and the FULL version of cue, so i bought one. I tought this was great, im going to buy 2 more of these packages for back ups. Well these 2 packages came with traktor LE with the traktor skin on Total control, as no cue version despite it saying it came with cue. After arguing and arguing with these people, they decided to send me Cue LE only. Kinda sux. I dont know what numark is doing, and i do find it weird how they promote anything but their own software.
maybe they want to get out of that business, which is acceptable, but they should come out and let the public know.
I was going to buy the Ns7, but i think im going to stick with my gear for now. The ICDX is one hell of an underated controller...

Numark makes some other pretty good products too, they're not all bad. I own the DMC2 and loved it when I first picked it up. I still think it is a good controller but I am a DJ who is just a more involved mixer. I needed a controller that I could manipulate the jog wheel/platter more on and I found that in my Pioneer CDJ-400's. On the other hand I own a Numark C3USB mixer. I bought it to work with the DMC2. This mixer hums like a
son-of-a bi+¢#. No matter what I do such as grounding it, trying different outlets, etc. It still hums and loudly. One of my sons thought it was normal for an amplified system to have a hum like that until I bought my Pioneer DJM-800...and all was quiet on the western front.
Fluke, I'm with you on your thoughts about Numark and future support. That was my main reason for paying the difference and just going with VDJ.

Agreed! I use CUE but as far as my loyality I realize that is is really VDJ in a different wrapper. I think I have seen CUE still available on Numarks website but I am considering the $50.00 upgrade to VDJ6 so that I will officially be supported by VDJ and no longer at the mercy or waiting for the middle man (Numark) to decide whether they are or aren't offering the next level. The only part that is discouraging me is that I think when I install VDJ it will build it's own default directory and I will have to uninstall CUE. I'm not sure what that will do to my library and all my cover art, etc. I do feeo it will be better to deal direct with VDJ rather then going through Numark Cue. Opinions ??

I couldnt agree more about the ICDX, 1 word of advice... be very careful with the power supply... I was djing in St Lucia on a ship and my power supply dropped off the table, i didnt think it any big deal until i smelled something burning; next thing i know the transformer was melting... I called Numark right away and they overnighted me a new transformer...
Its a shame because ive had great customer service from Numark... but it seems theve dropped the ball on Cue / VV.
I bought the Denon S3700 because i thought i needed a better controller, today i am packing it back up for return to Pro Sound... Very disapointed that Denon hasnt gotten there act together after all this time since they ruined the 2000F with the MK2... Its not even a good cd player, never mind the fact that VDJ/Cue shuts down 10 minutes after its plugged in and only when its plugged in.
Back to my trusty ICDX i go... :-)

You will not have an issue with this ... easily handled. You can make another topic on this in the PC Tech Support or here in General Support, if you run into a problem. But V6 will not touch your v5 files - CUE, VV, or VDJ v5 - it will use them to create new ones -- but not change them.

Black Lace. I have already upgraded to VDJ 6.0 and I have CUE 5.2.1. The upgrade to VDJ 6.0 didn't have a single affect on my CUE installation. It does use info from the from the original database but doesn't move anything. I can still use both if I want to.

cstoll, did you get a chance to look into the CDJ platter control yet?

What is Numark cue?

Junk. Now, I'd just call it junk on my hard drive, now in my trash folder ready for the virtual boneyard.

If you go to the top of this page and select: Products>software>Numark Cue and read what it says. I can't copy the text as it is an image.
That is misleading. No mention of delayed updates or crossgrade fee. It pretty much states there is no difference which is untrue (the two products are essentially the same). Maybe Atomix should revise the information on that page as it could be construed as misleading in my opinion.

Chris, you were reading this thread late. I hadn't converted to VDJ yet when I said that...I caved in and doled out the extra $49 two days ago. BTW, my database transferred nicely, no problems.
Now if we can get the platter to scratch properly I'll be ecstatic....
