Topic: CUE users Version 6 update??!! - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

I know I mentioned this briefly in another thread and I apologize for cross posting but.. Why isn't the update available for us yet? I have awaited patiently like everyone else, are we going to get support? Please let me know, I am pretty disappointed right now and would like an answer as soon as humanly possible. Please and thank you!

Well, look at it like this: the "factory" (in this case Atomix Productions) has turned out the product. VDJ users get it straight from the factory. Numark has this product under the name "Cue", but it takes a while for a product to get from factory to store. Numark being the store, it takes a bit of time before Cue gets released. :)

I hope you are wrong about that. In the regualr world where a factory presses out a product for a distributor to sell this makes sense, but this is the world of computers. software and internet, it should be instantaneous. The licensing issues could have been worked out long before the release date.

Atomix, tell me this isn't true.

Oh, and Numark doesn't have a store (website for CUE updates) anymore, it is here along side VDJ.

Updates to Cue however are still Numark branded, and thus would still have to be authorised and tested by them - so they are still Numarks responsibility...

aahhh crap!

Does anyone know how long it took Numark to release the 5.2.1 CUE update from the previous? I want to know approximately how long I'm looking at for an upgrade, this sucks!!

Your best bet would probably be to speak to Numark support...

As a cue user, we usually get the update about a weak later. Used to get upset about this until I realized that I have never had to do any rev updates because of minor flaws. Numark usually has the final copy before releasing IMO. Heck, by the time I get my copy I know how to run everything from reading everyones question on the forum.

So rest a sure, there has never been a problem with releasing later. I never had any problems with any systems I own and YES I would would like to have the new toy on the block to go plublic but it is what is.

Ive always come to VDJ for updates and effects because when i was given my copy of Cue for Beta testing, Numark didnt have a forum and updates available thru the website...

What i dont understand is, if i still have to upgrade to VDJ pro, then why does the VDJ website say this?

"The professional version is available under the brand "Numark CUE" and "Numark VirutalVinyl" in most MI stores around the world (Guitar Center, ...), using Numark's distribution network."

Im simply trying to figure out what paying the 50.00 bucks would do for me if i were to "upgrade"

I guess the only benefit would be time?

Great post Fat. There was at least one update that CUE got before VDJ so, don't read too much into it guys. Trust me on this, I own both softwares.....

Your right, ive just checked Numark's store and the closest thing they have is DJ in a box... This contains total control and Traktor LE... I noticed a while ago about the DJ in a box thing, but at least you could still purchase Cue... Why is Numark distancing themselves from VDJ, are they nuts???

I was wondering the same thing too (distancing themselves from VDJ). Because they also release the NS3 that works with Serato. HOwever, they are just burning both ends of the rope to make sure they have the market covered.... just like their competitors.

I am just hopeful we will see Numark's affirmation to Cue with this update. If we dont see word, a post, or announcement... I guess I can start looking for another supported solution elsewhere.

And so why not crossgrade to VirtualDJ Pro at the discount ... will be a lot cheaper than buying a whole new platform ?? Cut your wait time ... go to the www.virtualdj.com/buy/ page and at the bottom enter your serial and click to upgrade ...

OK, heres what i asked earlier,"ok i use numarks virtual vinyl pro, in the past when an update for virtual dj came out i would download it and lay it on top on my nvv program, but when i go to the software update page i dont see where it says i can download vdj 6.0 at. am i not able to download it or am i looking in the wrong place?? its shows the software i use and update its giving me 5.2.1, but no 6.0, hmmmmm?? well if you can answer this it would ease my pain, hehe."
So how come i could download the otherS but not 6.0?? im confused, im not trying to download it from the Numark site im trying to download it from the vdj site like i always have. Nevermind a light just came on!!! so if i bought vdj instead of nvv i would get the update first?? No that still doesnt make sense to me seems i never get my updates from the Numark site which leads me to beleive that someone at Atomic or where ever they come from is stopping me from getting the updates here?? Am i right in thinking this or could someone explain this to me, yeah i know you all think im retarded, thats ok, hehehe.
thanks for your time
STAY FRESH & KEEP IT FUNKY!!

Did you not read the thread before posting ?? It's not currently available for Numark VV or Numark CUE users to download. It's a Numark branded product ... even if you do get it from here we can just 'release' something under their name with out them saying OK ... right ?

See, that's just the whole point, we don't want to and shouldn't have to, Numark shouldn't be selling the product anymore if they have jumped ship and do not plan to continue support. It's not fair to us who bought it, paid full price and sign up here thinking we are Pro Ed members when we are really second rate members. Many of us I'm sure didn't know that there would be a difference, I didn't. I was told that we would get the same benefits whether we bought online or in the store. I realize it isn't VDJ's fault but on the other hand we are in your Arena now and left in your care, possibly orphaned by Numark, so now you are our surrogate caretaker so I'd say we deserve to be treated better than a red-headed stepchild! We've taken you as our own, please reciprocate... and Numark? If you have abandon us, shame on you.

Rane is good but Rane is second rate stuff, VDJ is number 1. All I want is for VDJ to treat us like we’re number 1, your customers are number 1, right?! Word of mouth helps bring in the cash and I know my words have helped generate a few monetary units.

OK... Not to be a yes man but everything that's being said here is the same words that have been said on every update.

Maybe I'm wrong but looking at Numark’s website, I just don't see where they would even care to continue support of CUE. They've discontinued the DMC2, Total control touts Traktor LE & CUE LE but the big thing for them for now is the NS7. So IMHO it seems that they want to ride on Rane's coattails now because maybe they are tired of being the second rate company that they are and are trying to run with Rane because they seem to think that all the rage is Serato, not VDJ. They have been back seated by Pioneer and Denon for too many years and want to be back on top like they were in the early 80's.

The NS7 is nice, but not my cup of tea, which is why I use all pioneer CDJ's & DJM's. I have Numark products but they collect dust. If what I am saying has any truth to it then man, they are making a mistake by alienating us loyal VDJ users. I don’t know why so many people claim Serato to be the king of the DJ hill but they are either blind or just plain stupid. 1.9 is a great run against VDJ and the addition of Video SL was a good idea but VDJ has been there and done that already, good idea Rane for catching on, but still no dice.

I hope I’m wrong about Numark and VDJ and if I am right then VDJ, step up and lend a hand to your loyal CUE users, as far as I’m concerned I'm not a CUE user, I’m a VDJ user period!!
