Numark - NDX 800  

CONTROLS




    M SOURCE. Use this button to cycle through the available Operation modes of the Numark NDX800 (CD, USB and MIDI).
    Set to MIDI mode to control a VirtualDJ deck. Notice that the unit will still be detected as a MIDI device if the CD or USB modes are selected, however it will not control any VirtualDJ operation.


  1. CUE. When the Deck is paused, you can set a temporary Cue Point by moving the Platter to place the Audio Pointer at the desired location and then pressing the Cue Button.

    During playback, you can press the Cue Button to return the track to this Cue Point. (If you did not set a Cue Point, then it will return to the beginning of the track.).
    If the Deck is paused, you can press and hold the Cue Button to play the track from the Temporary Cue Point. Releasing the Cue Button will return the track to the temporary Cue Point and pause it. To continue playback without returning to the Temporary Cue Point, press and hold the Cue Button, then press and hold the Play Button, and then release both buttons.

  2. PAUSE. Pauses the track when playing. Cycles through available Cue points when paused

  3. PLAY. Plays the track from Cue point when paused. Jumps to Cue point and continues playing when track is playing.

  4. EJECT. Assigns the unit to a different VirtualDJ deck. When a single unit is connected, it will cycle control to all available decks. When 2 units are connected, the left unit will toggle between decks 1 and 3 and the right unit will toggle between decks 2 and 4..

  5. START TIME. Vinyl emulation. Adjust the Time the track will require to catch up full speed (designated by the pitch fader). Set to minimum for instant start.

  6. STOP TIME. Vinyl emulation. Adjust the Time the track will require to fully stop. Set to minimum for instant stop.

  7. SCRATCH. Use this button to toggle between the CD and Vinyl Jogwheel modes. The Led if this button will be lit if the Vinyl mode is selected.

    In CD mode, use the Jogwheel to bend (temporary speed up – slow down the tempo of the track).
    In VINYL mode, use the outer part of the Jogwheel to bend (temporary speed up – slow down the tempo of the track) and the inner touch-sensitive part to scratch.

  8. JOG. Touch sensitive jogwheel. Use the jogwheel to scratch and pitch bend (if Vinyl mode is selected), or pitch bend (in CD mode) If the SEARCH button is pressed, use the Jogwheel to fast search/seek through the track.
    The Jogwheel also offers Loop Move adjustment (see RELOOP button)

  9. PITCH BEND. Press and hold down these buttons to temporary speed up/slow down the song while pressed. When released, the track playback will return to the speed designated by the Pitch Fader.

  10. PITCH RANGE. Press this button to select the next available range for the Pitch Fader (available values ±4%, ±8%, ±16% and ±100%). The Leds around this button will indicate the selected pitch range. A different Pitch range can be selected from the Deck Options in VirtualDJ GUI.
    Hold this button down for more than 1 second to "lock" the track's pitch to its original key. The track's tempo will remain at the speed designated by the Pitch Fader.

  11. PITCH. Adjust the track's playback speed (tempo).
    The actual pitch fader will not alter the pitch of the track if the actual pitch and the software pitch value do not match (software soft-takeover, ghost fader visible on the GUI). In most cases this may happen if SYNC is prior pressed or switching decks and the other deck is having a different pitch software value.

  12. BLEEP/REVERSE. Set to Reverse position to play the track in reverse.
    Slide to Bleep position to play the track in reverse and resume playing at the normal direction from the position it would have been if never triggered, once released (censor)

  13. FX. Use this button to turn the selected Effect on/off.

  14. FX WET/DRY. Use this fader to adjust the 1st Parameter of the selected Effect

  15. FX SEL. Slide to left/right to select the previous/next available Effect

  16. FX PARAMETER. Turn this encoder to adjust the 2nd Parameter of the selected Effect

  17. PROGRAM. Not used

  18. TIME. Toggle displayed Time between Elapsed and Remain

  19. TAP. Tap this button on track's tempo to manually calculate track's Tempo and phase

  20. LOOP SHIFT. Slide left/right to select previous/next loop size (half/double loop size). The LEDs above the slider will indicate the selected loop size (if in range)

  21. SEARCH. Hold this button to set the Jogwheel to Search/Seek mode. When the Search mode is enabled, use the Jogwheel to fast search/seek through the track. Press again to turn off Search mode and set Jogwheel back to Vinyl/CD mode

  22. BACK. Set focus to Folders list. If focus is on Folders list, open/close sub-folders

  23. LCD MODE. not used

  24. RECALL. Open the File info window (Tag Editor) of the loaded track

  25. TRACK. Use this encoder to scroll through Files or Folders.
    If focus is on the Folders list and folder contains tracks, push the encoder to set focus to the Songs list
    If focus is on the Folders list and folder does not contain any tracks, push the encoder to select the next folder or expand its sub-folders
    If focus is on Songs List push the encoder to load the selected track to the deck.

  26. LOOP IN. Use this button to set the Loop In (Start) point of a manual loop.

  27. LOOP OUT. Use this button to set the Loop Out (End) point of a manual loop. If a loop is triggered/enabled, use this button to exit the loop.

  28. RELOOP. Use this button to exit a manually triggered loop or enable the last triggered loop (re-loop)
    When the MODE button is pressed, use this button to set the Jogwheel to Loop Move Adjust mode and then use the Jogwheel to move the Loop through the track's time.

  29. MULTI BUT 1. Use this button to assign Hot Cue 1 Point or returns the track to this Hot Cue Point if assigned. When button is unlit, you can assign Hot Cue 1 by pressing it at the desired point in your track. Once it is assigned, the Hot Cue Button will light. To return to Hot Cue 1, simply press it.
    In Delete mode use this button to delete HotCue 1

    In Sampler mode, use this button to trigger the 1st Sampler slot of the selected Sampler bank.
    In Sampler Rec mode, use this button to record deck to a new sample and save it to the 1st slot of the Recordings Sampler Bank

  30. MULTI BUT 2. Use this button to assign Hot Cue 2 Point or returns the track to this Hot Cue Point if assigned. When button is unlit, you can assign Hot Cue 2 by pressing it at the desired point in your track. Once it is assigned, the Hot Cue Button will light. To return to Hot Cue 2, simply press it.
    In Delete mode use this button to delete HotCue 2

    In Sampler mode, use this button to trigger the 2nd Sampler slot of the selected Sampler bank.
    In Sampler Rec mode, use this button to record deck to a new sample and save it to the 2nd slot of the Recordings Sampler Bank

  31. MULTI BUT 3. Use this button to assign Hot Cue 3 Point or returns the track to this Hot Cue Point if assigned. When button is unlit, you can assign Hot Cue 3 by pressing it at the desired point in your track. Once it is assigned, the Hot Cue Button will light. To return to Hot Cue 3, simply press it.
    In Delete mode use this button to delete HotCue 3

    In Sampler mode, use this button to trigger the 3rd Sampler slot of the selected Sampler bank.
    In Sampler Rec mode, use this button to record deck to a new sample and save it to the 3rd slot of the Recordings Sampler Bank

  32. REC. Enables Sampler Rec mode while this button is pressed. Hold this button down and then press any of the Multi Buttons to record deck to a new Sample
    Hold the MODE button down and then press this button to select the Sampler mode and allow the Multi buttons to trigger Samples

  33. MODE. Enables HotCues Delete mode while button is pressed. Hold this button down and then press any of the Multi Buttons buttons to delete their assigned HotCue points.

  34. LCD. The LCD screen will show all the Track’s and VirtualDJ Deck information, such as Elapsed/Remain/total times, BPM and pitch, Title, Artist and Album, Play status, assigned Deck number etc.
