Is there a way to listen to the next track in the phones while playing the current track on my system? Is there some hardwhare piece that I need to buy? Any help in this department would be much appreciated.

Just trying to figure out if this is possible before I spend a bundle on a program and find out it wont do what I need. Anyone have any insight?

You need a sound card with sufficient outputs - Either a 5.1 surround sound card (E.g: Soundblaster) or a sound card designed for DJ's such as the Numark DJIO.
This will provide you with two stereo outputs, so you can use one for your speakers and one for your headphones for monitoring. Alternatively, you can use them as separate outputs for each deck in VDJ, which you can connect to a hardware DJ mixer for more hands-on control.
