Topic: Timecode CDs and Pioneer DJM-800

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

If my mixer (Pioneer DJM-800) is Midi compatable, and the program that we are using is compatable with the mixer (Virtual DJ)

1. Do I need timecoded cd's at all?

and if I do......

2. Do the CD players need to be midi compatable as well or will the analog signal going into the mixer be recognized (I am currently using Pioneer CDJ-700 players)

A midi mixer will control the internal software fader but will not control the decks. A cd player (does not need to be a midi CD player your 700's are fine), along with the time code CD you can download from this site, will control the decks in virtual dj. You need a 4 in 4 out soundcard to run timecode.
