Topic: Cueing with timecodes is weird....

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

So I've finally got my DDM4000 hooked up to my DN-S1000 cd turntables and I'm encountering a problem - hitting the cue button doesn't send it back to the first cue - it usually sends it back to the start of the track. Is there any way with the time codes to fix this?

Edit - sometimes it goes back to the start, sometimes it goes to about .5 seconds before the first cue.

Right I have had this problem loads with timecode CD's.

It appears worse if you play the track then move the pitch on the cd player, say 3% and then hit cue - or at least in my experience.

I have worked out a few little fixes which are as follows...

1) In Timecode setup make sure the lead time is set at 0ms, then rather than playing your timecode discs from the start cue them up to 00:00:10 (10 frames i think it is). For some reason this seems to keep the cue point when u put the disc back to the start.

2) Set the pitch and everything as you would get ready to do a mix, then requeue the song up again. I always try to use the hot cue's on the actual software - as long as you are using the Timecode mode in Smart this should work fine.
