You have a problem with one driver but I don't know which one. I would say the video driver.

I've just reinstalled both audio driver and video driver.
I'll tell you what happens.

If you are interested, I contacted Microsoft as well and they said me:
"It would seem that the program reads a wrong memory address on the RAM.
The causes could be different, it could be a corrupt file or an unexpected block of the system which has generated this problem.
You could try to do a clean of the ram by specific programs.
If this doesn't work, try to reinstall the program.
If this doesn't work too, you have to do a general cleaning of your pc (use ccleaner) and then defrag your hard-disk"

I did all I could do.
I used CCleaner, I reinstalled both audio driver and video driver but the issue is always present.

In addition, I had other crash:

are they external crash as well??
What do you mean when you talk about "external crash"?

Excuse me djcel but you are my only reference point of VDJ:-)

Yes external crashes too

It means a crash not in the VirtualDJ code but in an external code: Windows or DirectX or codec or plugins or mappers or ...

You have two freezes of VirtualDJ: Screen and Scan

excode=c0000005 : Access violation
excode=c000008e : Floating-point division by zero
excode=c0000096 :

Maybe I found out the problem about driver.
2 days ago I changed my video card from Sapphire ATI9800pro to Sapphire ATI HD2600XT.
I tried to install driver which I downloaded by ATI support
http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/radeonx-xp

but it doesn't work with my new video card.

So I downloaded driver from sapphiretech support
http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/support/drivers.php

and it works.

After that I noticed a strange thing:
since I downloaded this driver I don't have any longer this issue in
mmc c:/windows/system32/compmgmt.msc

section DISPLAY OF EVENTS->SYSTEM

Type event: Error
Source event: ati2mtag
Category event: CRT
ID event: 45062
Date: 24/07/2008
Hour: 11.17.28
User: N/D
Computer: DESKTOP
Description:
CRT invalid display type
Data:
0000: 00 00 00 00 01 00 5a 00 ......Z.
0008: 2c 00 00 00 06 b0 00 c0 ,....°.À
0010: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
0018: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........

so finally I've understood that with Sapphire card it doesn't need to install the driver downloaded by the site ATI!!
All of that was by change because if I didn't change my video card, I'll never have found out the reason of my issue with VDJ

For now I thank you djcel about your support because you sowed a doubt in my mind.

For who reads this topic:
NEVER INSTALL DRIVER DOWNLOADED BY ATI SUPPORT FOR SAPPHIRE CARDS!!!

I'll tell you any news about that

You're welcome

I'm happy that you finally found the external origin of these crashes.

Another little suggestion for all users:
Keep up-to-date the lame encoder for recording your mix in .mp3 file
http://lame.sourceforge.net/index.php

I noticed more stability after updating this tool (I had got an old version of 2005 year)

Enjoy!!
