Topic: Anyone rockin' the B-52 Prodigy with Virtual???

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Right now we are currently running:

2 - Numark X2 Turntable/CD Players
1 - Numark 5000fx Mixer
1 - Hercules MK2
1 - Virtual Vinyl Sound Card & v. 5.0.7
1 - Sony Vaio Laptop
2 - 1TB External Harddrives

Anyways....all of this stuff weighs a ton. I haven't picked up a case yet for this setup, but was about to order the Odyssey Flight Zone Case that holds the laptop, etc.....

My question is: Is anyone using the B-52 Prodigy-FX with Virtual DJ/Vinyl? It's nice and compact, it weighs less, and did I mention it was nice and compact....comes with a nice case too. A friend of mine is getting rid of his and I wasn't sure if it was compatible with Virtual...although I don't see why it wouldn't be. We were going to possibly wait to get the NS-7 when they come out (probably Nov or Dec) but this might be too good of a deal to pass up, and I can probably sell my equipment and end up making money on the deal.....

If you have any knowledge of how it works with Virtual DJ and how you like it, please let me know.

Thank You.

It only has a mix output so would not be timecode compatible to my understanding.

I use the prodigy fx by b-52 and it works fine w/ vdj 5.06. BUT cant reccomend how reliable the unit is because i had to send mine back to b- 52 afther only ten months. The unit simply woulldnt power on . the warranty is only one year. I sent my unit back and they recd on last friday so know im just waiting to hear from b-52 cust serv/ or tech support as to when I will get the unit back.
When the unit was working it was great w/ the hercules mk11 as the sound card for vdj w/ tccd.

Thanks.

I've had some issues with the Hercules acting as the sound card. It would stop sending signals to line 1 and line 2 respectively, and would just send one signal to whichever line it felt like. I downloaded the 2008 drivers yesterday but haven't tried it out, since I have the Numark Virtual Vinyl box also hooked up in my set up. However in our 2nd setup we use just the Hercules as a controller and as the sound card.

I will probably get the b52, simply for the fact that it's nice and compact.

Thanks again.

ENVISION TO USE THE MK2 FOR TCCD I USE ASIO FOR ALL AND NOT THE HERCULES DRIVERS. I AM NOW CONSIDERING A SECOND MK2 FOR BACK UP OR A HERCULES RMX. I THINK I AM LEANING TOWARDS AND ALL DIGITAL RIG BECAUSE IT SEEM TO BE MORE RELIABLE AND ALso COMPACT. WHICH is great for mobile dj use. sorry for the caps
