Topic: Ms Pinky vinyl (rev2) not working

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I want to move to VDJ for the video features, and today tested a copy of 5.1 Pro with my M-Audio Conectiv soundcard and MsPinky rev2 vinyls. The timecode seemed to auto-detect OK (although sometimes it thought the vinyl was rev1) but the playback point jumped around the entire MP3, audio was really poppy and it continued playing when I stopped the record. Tried various settings but nothing helped.

Should this setup work in theory, and if so could anyone suggest what may get it running properly?

Laptop is a gateway, 1.8ghz, 1gb ram, XP home SP2, and runs Torq-DJ fine.

+ I should add that I've tried ASIO4ALL as well as the M-Audio ASIO driver.

you'd buy serato vinyl instead of the official VDJ vinyl?

demo v5.0.7 doesn't have the 'PCDJ' timecode option, which I understand is the correct choice for Ms Pinky - or isn't that right..?

Only 5.1 onwards support Ms Pinky vinyl, so the demo doesn't support it as it's only 5.0.7... so are you sure you're using 5.1? ;)

Yep the copy I'm testing is definitely v5.1 Pro.

Is anyone using the Ms Pinky (or Torq - I believe it's very similar) vinyl successfully?

Ta but I've already read that and it doesn't really help...

"- new engine "PCDJ" compatible with most miss pinky-based timecode records "

is kinda vague - is it supposed to work with my rev2 vinyls? Who knows?

i still am unable to get my torq vinyl to work - the reason i was going to get serato vinyl is because they are easier supplied where i live. but am looking at buying vdj vinyl now. does anybody know their current availability? and possibility of sending to New Zealand?
