I have some videos in MP4 format - should I convert them to MPG or AVI, or are they safe to use in the format they are currently in?

For me they have been working good On 5.06 and 5.07 sometimes the video would freeze when changing codecs to and from mp4. It was a once or twice a night occurrence. Most of my newer videos are mp4 right now. Could just be a problem with a few of the mp4 or avi videos I have. Haven’t tried it with 5.1. I also notice a little higher CPU usage.
