Hi there.

The specs you have listed, although 'old', should be able to handle the program fine. However, it depends on what you are doing with it.

Are you just using audio, or are you using video as well?

Is this your home machine you are using VDJ on? If so, it could be that it's full of cyberjunk through internet connections, and lots of other unnecessary files due to basic home use.

The best trick for vdj is to have it on a dedicated machine with a good level of components in it...see this page for details of minimum/recommended spec listings.

Computers can always do with upgrades and having a fast machine will help, however, there are guys around the boards who have systems with similar specs who run vdj flawlessly for hours on end. There are tweaks you can carry out to clean up your machine which helps as well.

What other sorts of hardware do you have hooked up to your machine?

Also, from an audio point of view, what types of files are you finding issues with? Is it every file you play or just with some? A bit of investigation along with some deeper explanations might help to narrow down some issues.

Let us know some more info and we'll try to help. These boards are a wealth of information as well...type 'glitches' into the search panel and you'll be faced with a fair number of posts offering advice.

Good luck...and keep spinnin'...(",)

yeah man, when you spin, just make sure you close most or all other programs

on your keyboard hit ctrl alt and delete all at the same time, task manager should pop up, start ending a few programs, and go through the processes tab aswell and kill some un needed processes, but CAREFUL when you do all this.

it is a home computer, and I do you use it for other things. I think I might need a dedicated computer. As for the glitch sounds in the music, ya it happens always now. I only use it for audio.

Download these things and run them:

To clean up various CRAP download the "FREE" Crap Cleaner program, etc:

www.ccleaner.com

Another one that is pretty good amd also "FREE" that does a lot of the same as the above but still finds things that the above has not found:

CleanUp 4.0 (Works for sure)

http://www.stevengould.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=30&Itemid=223

CleanUp 4.5 (The Setup Files are a little buggy and may work for some but so far for me = NO...)

http://www.stevengould.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=29&Itemid=223

Then follow one of the "user's guides" that are posted here to tweak you machine for best perfomance and maybe just create another user's account for those settings to use your VDJ, etc...

Get a pretty decent "FREE", quick disk defragger here:

http://www.digitaljukebox.com/Must%20Have%20Wares/diskdefrag_install.exe

And check out the other "FREE MUST HAVE SOFTWARE" at this link:

Good Luck,

DJ TAO :)
