Topic: Audio 8 DJ Interface - TCCD Issue w/Cue

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have posted this as a reply to a previous post....so I apologize for the multiple posts, but I have a gig on Saturday, and would like to resolve this if possible....(it is also posted in the Numark boards - http://forums.numark.com/showthread.php?t=2357)

My setup is below:

MacBook v 10.4.11
Numark Cue v 5.0.7
Native Instruments Audio 8 DJ Interface
Pioneer CDJ 1000 MK2 (2x)
Pioneer DJM 800
Pioneer EFX 500

I am getting a message that there is an "Error in the ASIO sound drive" when I try to config my timecode CDs. I have followed all of the steps here http://www.virtualdj.com/blog/skyfxl/blog4912.html but I continue to get the same message (I attached print screens of all of my steps in my post on the Numark boards http://forums.numark.com/showthread.php?t=2357)

All of my cords are plugged in correctly, I burned the timecode cds as an audio CD from the VDJ site. My CDJs are working properly (I can play a regular audio or MP3 CD on them) I also believe that my audio interface is working fine (in my "Sound Setup" if I change the Inputs to "None" I am able to play tracks thru my software) so I am not sure where the issue lies....I have posted on the Native Instruments site as well, but the impression that I am getting there is that I need to work it thru with Numark.

If I had to guess, I would assume that both the audio interface and the software are working fine, and that this is simply a "user error" (I am fairly new to this, and it would not be the first time that I screwed something up)

Does anyone have a similar set-up that can help me out? I saw on this site, that VDJ has a version 5.0.8 (I am on Cue 5.0.7) can this be the issue? If so, can I download 5.0.8 both as a Cue and Mac user??

Again, I apologize for the multiple posts, I just wanted to explain my issue in more detail....thanks in advance for any help.

I have the same set up as you except I use Virtual DJ instead of Cue. From what I understand, it's pretty much the same thing. Anyway, time code doesn't work unless you have the Virtual Vinyl box, or the Hercules MK2 controller. I just learned from user Spinna J about the Hercules MK2, so he'd have to explain how to set that up if that's an option. As for the errors, I get the same thing. It's a problem with VDJ on Mac. Version 5.0.8 won't do anything for this problem as it's a patch so VDJ will work with the Hercules RMX. The rumor is that 5.1 will be coming soon, and time code will be more stable. There is no release date, and that rumor has been around for a while now. Personally, I've been waiting since November for it to be resolved.

Sorry jonbawls but in your HOME EDITION you can't use Time Code, please consider to buy a PRO version or if you have already a CUE full version please insert your serial code here http://www.virtualdj.com/fusers/modifuser.html to have help in Forum and E.service ;)

I have the same exact problem. I am using an IMAC running OS X 2.4 GHZ with 4 GB of RAM. I am using VDJ Pro, I have pioneer 600 DJM mixer and Native Instruments Audio 8 sound card. I attempted to do my timecoded vinyl and I also got the same error messages. However, My VDJ would continue to quit and close everytime I attempted to configure the system....I never have had a problem until i attempted to set up my timecodes. Any new advice or news?
Thanks
