Topic: 2 smiley crashes

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Last night for the first time I had 2 crashes where the smiley face went up but wouldn't recover, it just shut down.

Here is the report:

Crash ID=08a6673c (date=805212244, version=5.0.7, build=507, thread=Main, dump=c74024ff, excode=c0000005 (1,3c))
Freeze (date=805212244, version=5.0.7, build=507, thread=Scan)
Crash ID=08a6673c (date=805220055, version=5.0.7, build=507, thread=Main, dump=c74024ff, excode=c0000005 (1,6d0099))

The first time I clicked on something in the playlist on the right and the second time I was clicking on my computer in the browser on the left.
Please let me know what happened as I said I have never had crashes before (that weren't my fault). The thing different about the night was that I installed JPBOGGIS's new mapper for the Denon, I love that mapper by the way.

System:
Toshiba
Windows XP
CPU T2400 @ 1.83GHz
1.84Ghz, 2 GB Ram

Does anyone know what these crashes are related to?

Glad i am not the only one. Sunday i had a similar report. The first crash in a while. The smily face would not react the software froze, reminicent of the needle being stuck on granny 78's :). Unfortunatley my backup was'nt with me as my confidence in VDJ was getting to the point that i chance leaving it behind for the first time, what a fool i am , although i don't think the software was to blame on this occasion for my crash, i hope ?

I checked the report on the system log of which pointed to VDJ however i believe it was a memory overload to blame for mine i will place the crash report on site for diagnosis later today

These crashes are indeed linked to the Jpboggis's HC4500 mapper during automix

Better send JPBoggis a pm regarding this Issue, you've probably found a bug in his new mapper for the HC 4500, in order for him to put it right.

Hi jimmy

I don't use the HC4500 sorry for the confusion. Just pointing out that i had no issues for a while and then crash. No changes to my hardware so had to discount that theory. Thought the crash report would suggest a memory issue although on the system i was using has plenty.

There appears to be a bug with automix when using the mapper that didn't show up during beta testing.

A fix should be available soon, but in the meantime, please either avoid using automix or temporarily disable the mapper while it's in use (Effects -> External Devices -> HC4500 -> Mapper Enabled button.)

Your crashguard report is not linked to HC4500
