Are you using an external hard drive? If not copy the database .xml file onto a mobile device, like a thumb drive, and simply place it in the same folder on the laptop as you found it on your desktop. My Documents>VirtualDJ>VirtualDJ Database.xml + VirtualDJ DatabaseV5.xml files

Hi thanks for the reply. I'm using an external on the desk top but an internal on the laptop. will the differing paths make a difference?

No, but..the external has a database.xml file on it..If I were you I would bring the external and use it with the laptop...VDJ runs very well if it can dedicate one drive to the music and one drive to operating the software.

Use your external, everything you need is there,

You then don't have to fart around moving and copying things.

Thanks guys but that was how I'd head out before. With the external but I don't want to leave the house with all my data. the laptop copy acts as a back up, so it wont matter if something goes wrong or it gets stolen etc.

The file VDJ stores on the ext hdd, can that be copied over?

Thanks for your help guys
