Topic: Help with karaoke zip files

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have a backup laptop which I'd also like to start using for karaoke gigs. (Dell Inspiron, 2GB RAM, adequate processor, running Vista, version 4.3). However, when I load karaoke zip files onto the hard drive, they do not open up in center where the track listings are shown. Instead, they are all listed on the left browser where my favorites are shown! (Obviously these can't be loaded so that they can be played). I have added the correct zip codec just like I did with my primary rig, but can't seem to figure out why VDJ is not recognizing them as a karaoke track. Instead, they're only shown as folders. I have a feeling this is a Vista setting, but obviously haven't been able to diagnose the problem myself. :(

Advice please!

You need to install WinZip on the machine... otherwise VISTA reports them as folders and not compressed files.
