Topic: New Rackmount Computer and New VDJ, first time issues.

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I just built a new Rackmount computer and ordered the DMC2 controller.. Since the controller is back-ordered I decided to go ahead and purchase VDJ. :) (I have no patience LOL)

Audio (only) seemes to be working fine, but I did purchase one DVD from promo-only so I could try out the video side of it..
Ripped the DVD last night (using VDJ's ripper) and played with VDJ a little bit.
Videos looked OK, but the sound went wacky when ever I loaded a second track (into the second deck) when the first track was playing.
Also if I tried changing the pitch the sound would also go buggy.. (like it was skipping)
The video always looks good..

Since I'm a complete newbie, I was hoping people could start pointing me in the correct actions/directions to take, to troubleshooting and start optimizing things..

thanx!

Its a brand new install with Windows XP sp2 (fully updated)
quad core CPU 2.6 GHZ
2 gig ram 800 mhz
512 meg ATI 1650 pro
two 500 gig Sata drives in RAID 0 config.
Clean install with VDJ at its original settings..

I realize the video card is smaller then recommended, but I didnt think the 'performace' would be this bad/glitchy.
The video side of VDJ is not that important to me right now, but I do want to start setting it up to be rock solid for my first gig with it.

:)

I tried moving the preset performance slider around. I was able to get rid of the noise/skipping at its fastest setting and it was barely noticeable at the next setting up..

Is this the position most people run their video mixing at?..
I so, I'm guess I'm surprised as (except for the video card) I thought I built a pretty fast computer. :(
