Hi All,

This is a new one for me.

This is my set up:

Mac Book Pro: 17", 2.6 GHz, 2GB RAM
Maya44 USB external sound card
Vestax PMC-05 Pro Mixer
2 Technics 1200 M3D turntables
VDJ TCV
Western Digital External HD, 320 GB, USB 2.0/Firewire 400 interface (Music Library Drive)

Ok, so I loaded Windows via Boot Camp with no problems. I installed VDJ with no problems. I ported over my VDJ data from my desktop with no problems. I installed my Maya44 USB with no problems. TCV's work flawlessly and sound quality is what I'd expect. Soooo...

So then I plug my external HD in one of the USB ports of my laptop and for the first time EVER, I hear the sound of the hard drive clicking, whirring, spinning, ticking, etc. coming directly through my speakers! I am at a total loss on this one. When I had everything hooked up through my desktop I did not have this problem at all. Has anyone ever experienced this and know why this is happening and how to fix it?

So now I will have this clicking, ticking and whirring sound EVERY time I access a folder, load a song, etc form that drive. Obviously this must be fixed or I can't go on b/c there is no way I can record anything or perform anywhere until it's fixed.

Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Xtian
