Topic: multi-byte character

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I am a japanese.
so I have a lot of mp3 wrote by japanese.
but,,,
VDJ cannot read "multi-byte character" like as japanese.

my request is that VDJ will be able to read "multi-byte character".

there are some files & folders virtual dj cannot read and give us an error.

but... it can read files in other languages. and anything in the id3 tag is valid as far as vdj is concerned.

perhaps the skin may not be equipped for reading japanese.

so, what is it:

1. a file loading error: no way around it and vdj should find a way to resolve this. "dj tiesto" with proper spelling is a common one.

2. skin with font not supporting japanese: find a skin that does.

oh thats been done already,

were talking about files with letters causing vdj to give an error when trying to load it.

it will load on winamp but not vdj

that e in tiesto has a special 2 dots above it. kinda when you hold th ctrl key and press a letter.

it just won't load.

i use hebrew text and got it to work just fine.

there are 3 types of text we're talking about here.

a
א
and the a with an accent on top of it.

if the mp3 file itself contains a character with a dot above it, vdj will give you an error.

xml, skin, bmp has nothing to do with it.

the skin can find a way to compensate for id3 tags written in other languages.

but the file name itself.. blah.mp3 is the problem

when you find this error, you will understand

do i sound cruel/frustrated... i'm sorry. it's just coming out like that. no harm intended..

:)
