true true.

or perhaps find a different software for this.

although, a touch screen is kinda hard to type requests with, or take notes. oh boy, you are in for it. unless you've mastered the touchscreen.

are you a touchscreen master?

:)

but why a desktop, so many things can go wrong.

with a laptop, power goes out, you'r still runnnign the show. power goes back on, and your're still safe.

with a desktop, powre goes out, you have to boot up from scratch, compile a playlist, reconfigure everything, test it, and finally, apologize for something you did not do. press play. all that takes time and ruins your image as a pro dj.

that would be a battery back up right?

what about the time it takes connecting the keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc. with a laptop, you're already there.

also, a laptop is built for mobility... mobile dj... a desktop is not built to constantly move around. desk..bottom

and the desktop is also much heavier.

buy hey if it works for you.. great.

:)

Laptop fine and dandy, but what happens when u want to upgrade or when your usb ports go bad. You want mobile and say it takes longer to plug in the keyboard and mouse, but with a lappy you gotta plug in hard drives, sound cards etc. So it is fair to say that it isnt as mobile as one would think. Build yourself a Shuttle that is the way to go IMHO:)

well you can get racked systems with no connections required

and there are places laptops can go where towers cant ,

upgrading laptops is expensive and isnt easy

but ultimately i guess at the end of the day what ever floats ur boat ;)

should weigh up your personal needs and make a choice on that

no two people or two situations are the same so there is no fit all solution :)

usb going bad is the only thing that has me worried.

usb soundcard, usb ext hdd, usb controller

my laptop is powerful enough and upgrading it's components is getting less expensive all the time.

choose your gear, and good luck with it.
