Topic: How do you regain control after vinyl runs out? - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

Just got virtual vinyl and have been testing it out... Works ok so far... Not as smooth as torq or serato which are both currently audio only...

The problem I'm having right now is when I turn off the turntable or the record runs out... The internal controls take over on that specific deck and I can't figure out how to regain control...???

When I reload a song on the deck and drop the needle nothing happens...???

Please help...

Thanks... Johnny

these are features that only work with a registered version of the program n vinyl.

in the latest registered pro edition with vdj / numark tcv

all of this works fine on Smart mode,

i hope to see you as a pro user soon :)

dun't understand...

I own Numark Virtual Vinyl and am only able to use it with the control box and enabling with my serial code...

I just haven't registered through this forum...

Does registering through this forum open new controls through my interface?

Does anybody know the answer to my original question?

Thanks again... Johnny

What mode are you operating in, absolute, relative or smart? You can find the options under timecode config

relative mode...

try smart mode this mode will keep the music playing at the end of the record ,

welcome to the pro comunity be sure to download the latest updates

That shouldn't happen in relative mode. You have two different scenarios working here. If you let the needle run to the end of the record you do lose vinyl control. That is by design so that the file keeps playing and doesn't shut off. To regain control you should be able to pick it up and needle drop. The second scenario has me stumped. When you turn off the turntable the music should stop. Are you losing your timecode signal, that's what this sounds like?

I've seen this happen before but might be a different issue.
@ dj Johnny, when this happens, does it reflect your movement of the turntable on the screen without affecting the song itself?

when i played today...

the vinyl ran out and the song kept playing

but when i dropped the needle to regain control while in relative mode

i couldnt gain control

is there something i have to push before i can regain control???

bump... gotta use the program tonight... anybody now how to regain once you can't control w/ vinyl? is there a button on the deck interface or something I have to change in the mode...???

I'm finally at my gig rig and just tested in relative mode. I started a song towards the end of the vinyl and let it run out. As figured once it got past the last time code signals I did lose control i.e. moved record and nothing happened. I think picked up the needle and put it back towards the beginning. Sorry to say it worked perfectly for me. I regained control of the timecode right where the song was, without any jumping back in the song. I'm not really why you're playing to the end of the vinyl alot. Is the song still playing on the "run out of timecode deck?" If not you can probably hit stop on the VDJ player and unload the song.

used to playing with torq in relative mode so i can just drop on the fly...

I'll try absolute mode tonight!

Thanks...

k absolut didnt work cause when i dropped the needle at the beginning of the record it started in the middle of the song...

so back to relative mode...

it works for 3 or 4 songs and then...

if i pick up the needle on deck 1 it keeps on playing or if i turn off the table it keeps playing...

after that happens I dunt know how to regain control of that deck again...

anybody know what is happening?

everytime that happened i had to drop a song w/ my dual deck, and then restart the program...!!!

When you lose control, do you still have 100% timecode signal?

i know exactly what u talkin about. for some reason i lose control as well and i cant regain control. it seems as if the tc loses signal. i also scratch and that seems to have an effect on it to. sometimes in the middle of me scratching i lose control and the only way to gain it back is by me switchin from external mixer to 3 lines mixer but then the song restarts which is really annoying.

dunno about the 100% timecode signal???

anybody know the fix to this???

really suked the other nite

i had to play from my denon dual everytime that happened, restart the program and then go at it again until it would happen again...

never had this problem w/ torq or serato

When it happens again, click config and timecode setup and check your signal level and report back. What type of cartridges are you using, how old are they, are they clean or damaged in anyway?
