Topic: MAYA MKII PCI nay help out there?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I still have an ASIO error so I was just wondering what to do now.

Sowndman,
I know that it is not nice when you're having a problem. But please stay at one tread for a (1) problem. In this case we don't spoil this (in my opinion wonderful) forum.
If seperate threads occur from the same topic, the facts and answers are also spread around.

I planned also to buy a Maya PCI card, but after reading these posts I probably are going to buy a Maya USB.
I currently have a D-Vinyl controller with build in sound cards. These sound cards are also made by ESI. Playback with the USB drivers is no problem, but when I try to use the inputs, for timecode vinyls, I get also an Asio error.
So probably there is a problem with ESI sound cards or drivers.

I have the maya 44 (orignal not MK2) and it works with VDJ
but I have not tried asio. I tried asio with VDJ on the echo indigo and could not get it to work
so I am sticking with Direct sound

So the USB version of the MAYA 44 is not made by ESI and that is why it works flawless.

I understand sowndman, this is a real problem.
Have you tried e-support ?
Maya 44Mkii is an excellent card, 4in/4outs analog,
true 24bit/96Khz, latency as low as 1.5ms
(the usb version is just 16bit, with 18bit converters, latency 4ms)
It has multi-wdm drivers,(4 outs in microsoft sound manager and asio, the usb version has 2in/2out wdm... 4 only with asio..)
there are not many cards in the market suitable for dj
applications. Most pro cards are designed for music production
with more outputs maybe, more expensive etc.
It is a crime that dont work with Vdj.
I believe it is Virtual dj fault, there are many cards with
asio setup problems.

Wireless, can you try your Maya44, with Vdj, asio ?

D-vinyl and also Maya44usb are using the propagamma
usb audio driver, not Esi drivers.
Esi drivers are very good as far i know,
again it is Virtual dj fault, i'm sure.
Maybe post it in the bugs forum.

E support sent me a messege saying there are other users with success with this card but I did a search and was unable to find any posts about this card but my own. I am relly getting frustrated now. I have owned this card for 15 days and have not got any real use out of it that I could not by just using the onboard sound card.

I plain to buy a Maya 44 MK2 (Pci), and i'm confused too..

IF ANYONE has success running:
Virtual DJ 2.05 + ASIO (advanced config, -or better- Low latency Timecode mode)
with this card
PLEASE post a message here.

P.S. I know that the usb version is working
(I already have one but i prefer the pci version)

So I downloaded a generic ASIO driver called asio4all v2 . I can now use the asio timecode mode but I seem to be hearing a pacman or digital sound when scratching similar to the one the video of the technics cd turntable does that has been going around the internet.

mute the line-in on your soundcard volume settings.

the one in your taskbar (if you're using windows). just double click the silver speaker looking icon, and click the mute box.
