Topic: CODECS JUST DISSAPEARED [DAC3 only]

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I don't know if this has happened to anyone. I upgraded to VirtualDJ 5.0rev5 and what happened to me was that when I shut down the program I got the error message that said the system was unresponsive, etc., and the next time I opened the program all my codecs were gone, so because the codecs were gone, I am not able to see any of my music and videos on the browser. Good thing I remmembered some of codecs so I manually put them back to be able to get through my gigs this weekend, but every time I shut down I get the error message and loose all codecs, so I have to keep putting them back manually. Since this happened I noticed some of my devices in device manager have yellow question marks. Also, here's what I have connected to the computer. Dac-3, Gigaport AG & 5 external drives (all USB).

It's a problem that dac3 users are having with v5.5. Heres a temp fix:

"For those that lost their codecs and know how to edit your registry use this fix given to me by Cstoll:

"Paste this into the FileTypes registry entry (located at: current user -->software -->virtualdj -->Filetypes)

mp3,1,wav,2,cda,3,wma,4,asf,4,ogg,5,vdj,6,vds,6,mp4,8,m4a,8,aac,8,avi,11,mpg,11,mpeg,11,wmv,11,vob,11,divx,11,zip,15,"
