My computer has 4 USB ports, but I always had it connected that way with 4.3 and never had a problem.

v4.3 used a central database file that was in the c:\\Program Files\\VirtualDJ folder
Now the v5 uses a distributed database system where the data about the files is on the drive with the files.
So when you do a search it dynamically read the XML files on all 4 drives.
If you plug the DAC and Gigaport directly into your computer ( will need to reload drivers for the GigaPort, not sure about DAC ) do you get a faster search with the everything connected?

Do you mean connect the Dac and gigaport directly to the computer and the 4 drives on the powered hub?

ok, I tried it the way you said. There is no change in performance. I'm still getting a lag on the first couple of letters on my search. When I disconnected the 2 300gb drives and just used the 2 750gb drives, I did notice a huge change in the speed of the searches. It was almost instantaneous.

What about just 1 300 plugged in does that put a strain on the search?
