Topic: Don't open the database file independantly

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I double clicked on the file named "VirtualDJ Local Database v5" which VDJ created on my music drive. The PC kept trying to open it in Explorer, and at the same time I think it was attepting to download something.

It created an endless loop and I hard to hard reset the machine. Not pretty. No damage done. :)

Explorer (IE) is the default viewer for XML file types. What freaked out your system is probably the size of the file.
Should use something like NotePad or WordPad if you want to look at it.
Why do you need to look at it?

I don't want to look at it. The voices in my head decided I should click on it to see what would happen.

IE never actually opened. I saw IE flash on the screen then vanish, then open again and vanish. The PC's memory was slowly filling up, CPU was "ok-ish" but I couldn't stop the loop.

It's not a problem, just sharing what happened. I don't need to open the file anyway. :)
